I bought this popcorn popper because I love to make carmel corn and was looking for a air popper. The design of the Old Fashioned Popcorn Maker is very cute. It is designed to look like a movie theater popper but is small enough to fit on the kitchen counter and store fairly easily.
The process of popping the corn is very easy. You simply plug in the machine, fill the top measuring cup with kernels, dump them into the heating cylinder, and turn on the switch. But be prepared because this thing is LOUD! It takes a few minutes for the kernels to start poppping, which is normal for an air popper since it has to have time to heat up the kernels. The problem with this appliance is that the heating cylinder is so small that once the corn starts to pop there is not enough room to keep the unpopped kernels down. A high percentage of kernels get forced up and out of the machine before they can pop. The result? A handful of hard kernels mixed in with your popcorn.
