My cruise on the Norwegian Sun was my first. I'd go again with no reservations.
Free style cruising is having the luxury of deciding when and where you want to have your meals. There is no specific table to sit at. No specific time to eat. No eating what they happen to be serving that night. Free style is just that, free style. There are a variety of restaurants on board. Some are included and some cost a nominal fee...but well worth it! Some need reservations and some do not. You decide what you want to eat, where you want to eat it and when you want to dine. You can't beat it!
I'm one who loves to relax and do nothing...my husband is not! While on the water, I laid on deck, read my book and sipped cocktails. He spent his time in the casino. I even visited the spa twice, which was rather expensive, but everyone should experience it at least once. When we docked, we did some of the shore excursions, again, rather expensive, but if you're in a foreign land, you might as well go out and play. There was something for both of us and we didn't need to spend every moment together.
We're already talking about our next cruise. We'll probably sail with Norwegian again, as we had such a wonderful fist experience.
