Norwegian Cruise Line - Star —

This was our third cruise and this was by far the worst experience we have had.  Everyone that worked on the cruise was nice and friendly but that was about the biggest pro to this trip.  The food was horrible.  I am not a cook and I could make better food than what was served on this ship.  About half the restaurants included cover charges, which defeats the point of an all inclusive cruise if you have to pay to eat.  Norwegians huge slogan is that they have freestyle dining, no need to wear a watch.  On the Star, you cannot get into one of the free restaurants without reservations that had to be made at exactly 7am the day prior to dining or the restaurant would be full.  The four course dining would have been ok had it not taken hours to get your food.  Our children were so restless by about half way through the meal that I ended up having to leave with them.  I have sailed on the Norwegian Wind and had an absolutely wonderful experience.  I will not ever sail on the Norwegian Star again.  It was not even worth the great rates we got for this cruise.

Why do people take children on crusies? Is there really that much for tem to do? Granted the ports were great but I still don't understand. Is there not more for children on land?

Unfortunately, we just had a very similar experience. I was so disappointed with the food and the service that I'm searching for any other cruise line for future cruises.
