Norwegian Cruise Line - Star — 

For a first time cruiser, I didn't know what to expect of my cruise to Alaska.  I had some preconcieved ideas because of pictures I had seen or things that I had heard from friends.  The ship was huge and a little glitzy.  The state room (inside) was larger than I had imagined.  Not very big but had lots of storage. 

The staff was friendly and helpful.  I was impressed at how clean everything was.  There was 24 hour eating and the specialty restaurants were wonderful.  I was expecting mass quantities of fresh seafood which was nonexistant.  That was a big disappointment. 

Alaska was gorgeous!  Beyond my expectations.  The excursions were very expensive. 

Cruising is a great way to vacation.  There is something to do almost all the time.  I can't wait to go again.  Next time, the Carribean!

We were very disappointed with the food. The only hot food we had on the entire cruise was at the Blue Lagoon--hot dogs and fish and chips. We were shocked having to pay a cover charge to dine at 10 of the restaurants. Free beverages were very limited. Soda was 'way pricey. Loved the stateroom. Will not saild on Norwegian again.

Drinks were very pricey....too pricey and not that great.


We were on the 11th floor. The hotel staff room was next door. Betweemn 12 am and 3 am the noise was horrendous. We complained to the reception persons and that night I thought someone was going to knock down my wall. Thank heavens it was our last night.
