Northwestern University Review Summary

Evanston, Illinois isn’t well- known to most of the population, but Illinois residents and academically- minded students know it as the home of Northwestern University, an institution of higher learning notable for its academic credentials and its athletic affiliation with the Big Ten Conference. Reviews of Northwestern University emphasize the beautiful campus, the strong academic reputation, the small class sizes, and the balance that Northwestern University offers between academics and social activities. Other facts about Northwestern include its high overall costs- tuition and otherwise- and this fact could lead some students to consider Northwestern University too expensive to attend. However, compared to other Illinois Universities, Northwestern University has quite a bit to offer. From Big Ten sports to academic excellence, Northwestern University makes an excellent choice for higher learning.

Summary I think Northwestern University is a great choice for a strong academic performer that is seeking a "work hard, play hard" college experience. Northwestern has a nice balance of the two. As a former student (okay, over 10 years ago), and now a parent, I think it is important for all kids to have a balanced approach to college life. It is not all about the fun or the education. So, when you have a school like Northwestern, you have the distinct advantage of experiencing both-- if you seek it out. — — Northwestern Admission. — Admission… read full review »

Another successful Northwestern alumnus here! I went to graduate school for an advnaced degree. You should know that there is an equal number of undergraduate and graduate students. This colors the experience for both grads and undergrads. Undergrads get the advantage of getting access to advanced graduate work as upperclasspersons. Graduate students get to exploit cheap undergrad labor (just kidding on that one!). — Northwestern's graduate programs do indeed have a great reputation across the country. I think it's a better place to get an advanced degree than to get the bachelor's… read full review »

Northweatern has a very pretty campus.  The tuition is a bit high, both in-state and out-of-state, but you receive a good education. Most Professors are willing to help at all costs. Classes are rather large, but that should be expected when it comes to such a large campus. Here you will meet the friends who will be in your life forever. —… read full review »
