HORRIBLE COMPANY!!!!
Took a flight from Omaha, Nebraska to Baltimore, Maryland (home at the time):
After a major accident on an interstate prevented me from arriving to the airport on time for my flight, the gate agents refused to put me (and aparently 150 other passengers) on a later flight without first charging a "mandatory" $100 change fee. I ended up paying the fee, and was put on a flight out the next morning. I wasn't home, so I had to get a hotel in another city ($200/night). The next morning, I boarded my flight, and sat on a non-airconditioned plane on the flight line for 3 hours! We were offered drinks, but at $1.00 a pop (for soda). For some reason, which I have to this day not figured out, we pulled back in to the gate. We sat for another 20 minutes, then de-boarded. An hour later, we re-boarded, sat on the flight line for another hour, and then FINALLY took off. Once we landed, I had to reschedule my connecting flight (since we were delayed previously for 5 1/2 hours). When I reached the gate I was supposed to be in originally, the gate agents told me that I could not change my flight without (again) paying another $100 change fee. After arguing for about 20 minutes, I finally paid the fee because I just wanted to be home. Once again, they couldn't put me on a flight until the next morning - no option for standby or anything. So, I stay at an airport hotel for another $125/night. Thus far, I have spent $525.00 EXTRA on a flight that originally cost $139.00 round-trip. When I finally arrived home the next day, I swore I would never take Northwest again, and I HIGHLY advise you don't either!!!
