With a walking one-year-old (or even crawling babies) around my house, anything within her reach she grabs, puts in her mouth, uses to make messes with. She will play with anything she can get a hold of that's not supposed to be a toy. One thing about my house that would have been a bad problem was our wood burning stove. It's big, gets hot enough to boil water on top of it or fry an egg, and is on top of a raised floor of bricks. Before we got this superyard, our baby was crawling and was constantly fascinated with the wood stove and the bricks. She got a few scrapes and some bruises from going over there to play. We got this mostly for winter when we'd be using it. Now we can use our stove without worrying about burned fingers or bruises or scrapes. It's really sturdy too. It even withstands the heat of the stove from only 1 foot away without getting hot. Love this and love happy babies!
