Norelco Cool Skin Shaving Lotion Cartridge (HQ170) Review

Bottom-Line: My Norelco Advantage 7735X with a Norelco Cool Skin Shaving Lotion Cartridge installed shaves me clean without the risk razor bumps and it feels oh so cool.

Occasionally I like to shave in the shower in order to save time on those rare occasions when I am running late: enter the Norelco Advantage 7735X, a cordless electric razor that can be used in the shower.  The Advantage 7735X is similar in every respect to the Norelco Advantage 5655, except for a cleaner design and water resistance.     

The same level of shaving closeness I came to love with the Advantage 5655 is still evident with the Advantage 7735X, and I can use the Norelco Cool Skin Shaving Lotion Cartridge (HQ170).  The chamomile-based lotion in is actually supplied by Nivea is advertised as being "[F]or normal to sensitive skin with special protective polymers for less skin irritation."  I can attest to the lotion effectiveness; my skin feels great after a shave.  Each box contains (5) 4fl. oz. blues cartridges designed to fit into the back of several Norelco electric razors.   

With just a soft push of the button on the back of the razor, the lotion is dispensed onto the heads of the razor.  The effect is soothing; it actually feels good as I shaved; cool, smooth, and easy as it glides over my skin (without pulling my hair), and my face (and head) smells clean without the stinging bit of aftershave lotion to deal with. 

On average the cartridges last a little under a month, not too bad I suppose given their size.  But in the interest of full disclosure, I should stat that I do not shave every day; more like ever other day.
