Review:
I lost 70 lbs. with the NordicTrack c2500.
In the beginning, i changed my diet drastically and gradually began using the treadmill (because I was really out of shape and didn't want to overexert myself). Now I eat whatever I want until I am full - not stuffed - and keep my weight off by using the treadmill 4 to 6 times a week.
The treadmill has 12 pre-programed sessions (6 of them are geared towards weight-loss), a race against the computer program, and the iFit feature. However, I don't use any of these programs. I run for 20 minutes at 6mph, then walk with 1lb. hand weights for 25 to 30 minutes at 4.5mph. I watch TV/movies while I work out and I find this helps the time pass. Hey, if I'm going to watch TV anyways, why not do it while getting exercise!
I love that it has instant speed and incline push starts, a 2 speed fan, reading rack, ipod dock, heart rate monitor, two cup holders, and it's a space-saving treadmill! The fans are a huge plus because many treadmills don't have them. Also the size of the running deck and rollers are commercial grade which tells you a lot about the value of the product. Nordictrack offers a free 1 year warranty on parts and labor and a lifetime warranty on the frame.
I researched treadmills for 6 months before buying one and this proved to be the best value for under $1000. I ordered it directly through the manufacturer and received free shipping!
***There are two downfalls, which is why I rated the Nordictrack c2500 at 4 stars: the heart rate monitor isn't very accurate and my ipod dock has never worked, but I purchased the 5 year in-home warranty for parts and labor (for an additional $129), so I need to call my service rep and they'll send someone out to my house for free. However, these issues are strictly perks and they do not affect the overall fitness aspects of the machine, which is why I haven't bothered to have them fixed after owning the treadmill for almost 2 years.
Hawaii's two cents:
I lost 70lbs with my Nordictrack c2500. Need I say more?
