I bought these cookie cutters on sale for $20 thinking that they would be something different I could bring to holiday parties. I was very disappointed.
I cut the various shapes out perfectly, but after coming out of the oven and cooling, they did not even come close to fitting together. I assumed that I had rolled the dough too thick, so I made another batch and tried again. The second batch fit together after I trimmed the slits a bit, but were not stable at all...yep, you guessed it...because they were too thin. I kept making small adjustments, but after the third and fourth batches, I gave up and threw the cookie cutters away.
So, you can either make these lean on one side as 3-D cookies or you can make them flat with 1/2 of the insert sticking out from the plate. Either way, they do not look anything at all like the pictures, and are not as impressive as they should be for all the effort involved. I would save your time and just make really cute flat cookies.
