Nokia 6030 Cell Phone - Compact and durable!

4

I've had my Nokia 6030 cell phone since 2006, and it's still going strong.  I have even dropped it multiple times with impacts that knocked it apart, leaving it with only some scrapes and nicks on the plastic parts and only one mostly-unnoticeable scratch on the screen. This phone is simple and basic--no camera, no keyboard, no sliding or flipping.  It is a modest rectangular shape with hard plastic buttons (not the semi-squishy rubbery kind).  It has a choice of a black or silver cover.  The battery recharges very quickly.  I've not timed it, but I'd estimate less than 3 hours to go from low battery warning to fully charged. My main complaint is with the alarm component of the reminder feature in the calendar.  When I set an alarm to be reminded of a particular item, I only have 2 options: snooze or exit.  I wish I had the convenience of an "edit" option as well.  As things are, I must exit then go into calendar to edit the item.

A good alternative pay as you go phone.

I changed my cell phone carrier 3 months ago from a contract to prepaid plan in order to reduce monthly bills. I went with T-Mobile because I received two phones for the price of one and no contract. The calls are clear and this phone saves me a lot because it is prepaid.

Durable phone that does what a phone should.

This phone is durable.  I have dropped it more times than anyone should drop a phone and still have it work.  The phone works well and looks good.  It does what a phone should do.  Only negative is it does not come with a camera.  If you want a durable and attractive phone...look no further.

Great basic phone

The Nokia 6030 is a nice basic phone. It is not a camera phone, but it does have a built in AM/FM radio that is a nice little extra. It also has a speakerphone option. It is easy to use and is MyFaves compatible if you are a T-Mobile subscriber.

provides easy communication for me & all my friends and family

Cingular/Nokia the service in general is great we rarely have dropped calls and find that we get a signal in a lot of places that some people do not! I am not a techno person so what I use must be simple! My husband was able to show most functions one time and I got it! I love that the ones I talk to most I can with minimal cost! Having this service compared to others on the market have really opened up a new freedom! I have a teenage daughter and with the family plan phone service we are able to stay in contact at all times! No more worring about her being stranded on the road without a phone. The family plan made it affordable to ease that worry! Very satisfied and have manged to convert alot of my friends and family from the other guys!

A simple calling phone with limited text messaging support

4

This was my very first cell phone when I got it in the summer of 2007. It is a very simple phone that has great battery life and a decent reception with the TMobile-To-Go prepaid service. It is a candy bar type of phone, but it is very solidly constructed. I once threw this phone at a fly (accidently I swear) and all that popped out was the battery cover and battery from the phone. The phone itself was not harmed in anyway whatsoever. Speaking of the battery cover, the battery cover is kind of loose considering it should not just come off in my pocket on occasion. The buttons on the phone are easy to press although it is a little more difficult for people with larger hands to press the buttons quickly. The phone does have some mentionable features. It has a FM Radio, but the audio jack into the phone is only a 2.5mm jack. It has colors, which is a lot to say for a phone of this caliber. It comes with a couple of sample games such as a pinball game and tetris-like game. If you really do need to text message with this phone, bear in mind that it has basically no T9 predictive text support which means typing out each character by tapping the phone button the correct amount of times. This gets really tedious for those who have used T9 or a keyboard before, but why would you have this phone if you already have had experience with a T9 or a keyboard. My advice: If you still have this phone and have the Tmobile to Go service, give it to your kids or to a senior citizen for use as an emergency cell phone.

It's a phone

I've had the Nokia 6030 for over 2 years and it's still going strong.  I don't use it every day and it tends to stay in the car.  It has held up being exposed in the car to hot summers and cold winters.  The speakerphone works well and so does the alarm clock.  I use it with the Cingular/ATT prepaid plan.

Basic, but built like a tank

This phone has served me well for over a year. Good sound quality after multiple drops. No case cracks, no button issues. Fell 12 feet onto concrete and ice this winter; worst thing that happened was that i had to put the battery back in and put the button cover back into place. No camera, no music, basic functionality all the way around. But in the age of cheaply built products, this thing is seemingly indestructible.
