For people who prefer a prepaid plan or an emergency phone, and don't use cell phones in the expanded scope as they've become, the Nokia 6010 is one of the best phones available. It is simple to use, lightweight, has a long battery life, and with T-Mobile prepaid service (at 10 cents a minute or per text), it has lasted my parents for years. Yes, years.
If you're looking for web access, unlimited txting, a camera, and a smartphone or flip phone, the Nokia 6010 isn't the right phone for you. It's web access is very limited, mainly to check your account balance and small range of games or ringtones...

I consistently get in conversations with friends who have purchased expensive cell phones that have all the bells and whistles, but then they invariably end up telling me how terrible their phone is. They don't seem to get good reception, the phone breaks easily when dropped, and they act quite disgruntled about phones in general.
I sumgly tell them that I have awesome reception, and then prove it by showing them the places I have reception where they don't. I've also dropped my phone on numerous occasions, and it has survived even my rough treatment.

The Nokia 6010 is aexcellent starter cell phone. it provides the functionality that a person needs from a cell phone without all the bells and whistles that most basic cell phone users never utilize or need. The ability to make a call when stranded on the road or to be contacted by family members that are worried about you makes this the optimum model for senior citizens and non-technically proficient users. The lack of distracting menu options increases the functionality of this model. The fact that this is often offered as a fee introduction to entice users into more expensive models...

The Nokia 6010 is a phone that I will keep for as long as I possibly can. I have had other brands of cell phones, but I always go back to my Nokia. They are easy to use and don't have all of the extras that I, personally, do not need. Just give me a phone I can talk and text on, and I'm happy. I have not had any problems with my Nokia phone, either. If anything happened to the one I have now, I would definitely buy another one!
my daugther had this phone when it first came out? and she loved it....
once my daughter had the phone everybody wanted to get one....
and now the 6010 is out they have all kinds of phones sliders cameras etc.
my grandda just now got rid of his 6010, thats only because we got on his case so bad.
NEVER HAVE HAD ANY PROBLEMS IN 3YEARS.
