Nokia - 6010 Cell Phone Review

The Nokia 6010 is aexcellent starter cell phone.  it provides the functionality that a person needs from a cell phone without all the bells and whistles that most basic cell phone users never utilize or need.  The ability to make a call when stranded on the road or to be contacted by family members  that are worried about you makes this the optimum model for senior citizens and non-technically proficient users.  The lack of distracting menu options increases the functionality of this model.   The fact that this is often offered as a fee introduction to entice users into more expensive models and plans should not be a deterrent to careful consideration of this model as a starter unit.  If the functionality is insufficient then look into an upgrade,  don't jump on the sales pitch wagon.  The Nokia 6010 that my wife and I have had for over 4 years have suffered many drops onto hardwood floors, cement pavements, and one fall from the roof of a van at 5 mph without other than cosmetic damage.  This is a rugged and highly reliable instrument.  It is ashamed that it is no longer supported.  I will keep mine until the technology makes it obsolete.
