Nice touchscreen phone

4

The Nokia XpressMusic 5530 is a sleek and stylish touchscreen phone that's easy to use. It's the perfect size for sticking in a pocket or your purse. It's lightweight but the sturdy design ensures that the phone will not slip out of your hands. The phone is excellent as a music player. It has built-in speakers and FM radio capability. The sound quality is very good, and a pair of headphones is included. The phone also comes packaged with a 4GB memory that can be upgraded. One issue with the phone is the battery life, which is a little below average. The battery seems to die after around 5 hours of use. As long as you charge the phone every night, this shouldn't be too much of a problem for the average user though. In addition, the photo and video quality of the phone's camera is not as good as other touchscreen competitiors. Overall, the Nokia XpressMusic 5530 is a great alternative to the iPhone. It's a good choice for people who want to save some money, but still want the stylish design and interface of a touchscreen phone.

Nokia XpressMusic 5530 Smartphone

4

nice phone - from design to feature, from outside to inside. The Nokia 5530 XpressMusic is Nokia's newest budget-oriented touchscreen smartphone, and it comes in a nice small package. The Nokia 5530 XpressMusic is quite an attractive little handset. The front of the phone is taken over by its modest touchscreen display, which is positioned in exactly the center, making for an eye-pleasing aesthetic design. This rear cover is the only real negative of the 5530 Xpressmusic's build quality, as it is extremely flimsy and I was afraid that I would break it every time I had to access the battery. The phone is compact enough to pass on as a candycane phone that Nokia has been making for centuries. The steel border is cool. This is not a 3G phone so internet is obviously slow EDGE. Works fine with AT&T network. Should be the same for TMo and any other GSM Network since it is a quad band phone.Plays videos good although for some reason it stretches all videos instead of normal mode.Podcast is cool, you can download lots of podcasts.

nokia xpressmusic 5530 is a cool touchscreen phone

4

I quite enjoy having this nokia xpressmusic 5530 touchscreen phone. It is very similar to the nokia nuron that I think is a newer model. This includes a fill touchscreen qwerty board, that can be on the screen when you flip the phone sideways. This has a 3.5mm phone jack for your headphones, which I quite like because you can hook up any headphones to your liking, unlike those annoying phones that require a specific plug in headphone. This is nice, because it means they take music quality seriously. That is also something I wanted to mention, i have had previous phones that had an mp3 player, but the sound quality was so bad, that I never listened to music on them. With this phone, that is different, the sound qulaity is pretty darn good! It also has video clips you can upload and carry with you anywhere. Again video and sound wuality are good. Also the screen is pretty wide so you can get a pretty satisfying screen to view your videos. I would recommend.

Nokia 5530 Review

4

The Nokia 5530 is the little brother to the Nokia 5800.  The 5530 is a slimmer version of the 5800 and also comes in at a cheaper price.  It is called the Nokia 5530 Xpressmusic.  A major feature of this phone is its music capabilities.  It has some really amazing speakers and it also picks us radio, which is really a nice feature.  At the top, it has a touchpad button the provides quick and easy access to your music, pictures, videos, and internet.  The phone comes with a micro SD memory card, which is a reallynice feature because you can expand your memory if you want to.  It had a 3.2 megapixel camera on the back that takes pictures and records video.  On the bottom, there is a micro USB, along with a 3.5 mm headphone jack, along with a charging port.  On, the top, there is the power button.  It also has a volume rocker and a dedicated camera button.  I would reccmoned this phone if you like media and an easy to use interface.

Good Entry Level "Smart Phone"

3

The Nokia - XpressMusic 5530 Cell Phone is a good entry level smart phone. First off, it is a cell phone, and a good one at that. It has a built-in music player which is great if you want a phone that can also double as a mp3 player! Playing music is great on the phone - the player is very simple to use ; speakers are very loud ; headphones are the standard input so you can use headphones if you prefer. The camera is very nice also, at 3.2 megapixels. The camera has a focus, so you will be able to take much better than average photos with it. A few negatives about this phone though, the camera has only 1 led flash, so it doesnt take the best dark pictures, but then again very few cell phone do in my opinion. 2nd, when dialing numbers, the numeric keypad doesn't display its corresponding alphabet, like 2 is abc, etc. Although not too much a problem, it is annoying when you need to call a number which uses an acrynym. 3rd, speakerphone is not that great because I find that much of the time, when the other person is talking, I cannot talk over them to interject because I get cancelled out by the speaker's voice. Apps are decent, but very far behind other smart phones. Essentially, this is a good entry level smart phone with decent amount of features that you don't have to spend a fortune on.

Nokia 5530 unlocked great non-smartphone

4

I purchased the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic Black Unlocked over a year ago and love it since. The display is about 2.9 inches widescreen and 640 x 360 pixel resolution. The colors are bright, vibrant and clear while on the web and photo displayed. The main reason I bought it was because it had wifi and I could easily go online when needed and also the high quality music player! The contols on the music player is great and  The browser pre-installed on there is not that great so I install Opera Mobile and Sky Fire which is awesome! I could recommend Skyfire for anyone that enjoy watching flash videos on the web this browser supports flash files. Also included is a 4 GB microSD card and stylus which is nicely fitted to lower left hand corner of the phone. The touchscreen is okay at times I would have to repeatedly touch tap the screen or it might be my fingers and/or gestures.  The camera is a decent 3.2 megapixel with auto focus and built in flash which comes in handy in low light conditions. Video clips you can record up to about 90 minutes. The Nokia Ovi store has many free apps to choose from... Last FM's Mobbler and Skype is my favorite so far. A negative is the phone didn't support other languages when I was listening to songs the characters didn't display correctly. Overall it is a great light weight phone that easily fits into my pocket. Simple icons and easy to setup homescreen to display quick contacts and apps bar.

it's good

3

The keyguard as mentioned is somehow out of place but that is not the biggest issue with this phone. The camera is good for this price range and the stereo speaker sound good enough. I don't see the microUSB cable as a huge issue because is very common and you can "borrow" it from another device. Personally I have more then 10 cables of different sizes. The menu like the most of the Nokia devices is easy to use and the touchscreen works fine with it but the double tap is annoying sometimes. The phone is indeed a dust magnet and its hard to clean too. The OS is good buy not as customizable as I like. The calling, browsing the contacts and especially the messaging turn you into a stylus addict and i personally hate that. The reception of the phone is the worse. Hard to connect and disconnects easily out of the blue. To make a simple summary: This is the best smartphone you could buy for these money and will be popular. But personally I've seen it, played with it for a few hours and this phone is definitely not my choice but I am certain that it ill be popular.

Good phone

I just bought the phone a couple of weeks ago so not too much detail to give for now.  The phone is nice, although the receptions is kinda low for me.  I like the applications they have and how I can control everything with a touch.
