Small but has everything I need.

I love this phone. It is small so it easily fits in the pocket of my jeans. I love the fact that I can download tons of music onto it and therefore, I have no need of a MP3. I listen to my fave music as I take long baths. Great phone....great price!!

very good phone

This is a phone that Nokia marketed towards the teenage crowd. They presented it as an MP3 type of aura and recommended for those who love to listen to music on the go. I have briefly tested it out and honestly I would rather use my microsoft ZUNE this area have it. As such I do not really experiment all that much but I'm sure it it works well for media since many of Nokia's phones are designed with the younger user in mind. As for the actual phone calls is a top quality item and I've never had an issue with someone I was talking to. The voices are clear and very audible. Even when I am in a busy area I can listen to the background noise and still clearly hear what is being said to me. The price of these have come down recently and you can still buy these online for not too much money. They look good too which is always nice.

Nokia 5310 is small and reliable

4

Since I use phones for calling and texting only, this Nokia works great for me. It's very small and fits in any pocket, roughly 4 inches by 1.5 inches, and even after a year it does not have any major damage. The radio is easy to use and the camera is ok considering that it is an old phone. I have experienced one annoying problem with the phone, though. On the lefthand side where the buttons to control the music are, the covering over the button came off after about a half a year. The buttons still work fine, just are hard to press, but others that I have talked to have confirmed that their phone did the same thing. Overall, the phone is great if you aren't looking for a smart phone and just need it for texting and calling.

good phone for music

I originally bought this phone more for the mp3 capability than anything else. I wanted a phone that would double as a mp3 player and this does the job. But the camera isn't the greatest, and if you do a lot of texting then this is not the phone for you. when I first got the phone last yearI wasn't worried about texting too much sinceI didn't really text much at the time, but since now I would like to do more texting, I will definitely look into a phone with an actual keyboard next time. It is a very small phone, which might be good for some people. It was OK for me, but I did not want a bulky phone. Others that have seen my phone have commented how small it is and that they would be constantly losing it. I also do not think that it has a very long battery life, but that might be my fault. They say to charge the phone completely when you first get it, and I was using it before it was fully charged, so this might have shortened the life of the battery. You can lock the screen so you don't actually call anyone, but if a call is coming in, you do not have to unlock it, it will do it automatically when you answer the call

great phone w/different colors

5

this is a very nice phone and what i like about it is that it came with many different colors. i got mine in orange and the phone is black but i wish i got the phone in white and the sides in baby blue. in my opinion that one is definately the prettiest. but all nokia phones in my opinion are awesome. this one is nice because it came with a memory card and you can buy a bigger one if you want. you can also listen to all the music you want and change songs and volume easily on the sides. i actually ended up getting a better phone and my husband is using this phone now. he gave up his blackberry 8100 for it b/c the scroll in the milddle stopped working. you see what i'm saying? you can get a very expensive phone and it still doesn't work like these durable nokia phones. one you use a nokia phone you will know exactly what i mean. you can drop it a million times and it's like nothing happened. :)

The Nokia 5310 is one of the best phones I've had, and I'm picky

4

After have a Razr for close to 4 years I decided to switch to a Nokia 5310. I'm happy with my choice. It's small, affordable, it's not a flip phone, it's easy to conceal, the texting features are great (and you can switch the language setting you use), it has some neat games already and others you can download, the picture quality is very good, and it doesn't tend to drop calls. Another feature I've noticed with it is that it has very nice reception. In some areas of buildings my friends will have no signal and I'll have all my bars with my Nokia 5310. It isn't too fancy, but it's not a piece of junk. It's a nice phone to start out with and you'll receive tons of compliments for it. Worthwhile choice.

The Nokia 5310 is the one of the best phones for a caller.

The Nokia 5310 is a great calling phone for GSM users. It is a brick phone, and the orange on this version of the 5310 is quite appealing. The phone is in the XpressMusic series and as such has a 3.5mm phone jack, which may or may not be attractive. If you're a music person you're going to love it, but if you are a cellphone headset user and don't want to use bluetooth (for whatever reason) it will be difficult to find 3.5mm headsets. There are music control keys on the front and a volume control on the side for the music. Unfortunately the volume control does not adjust the phone ringing volume even when the music player is off, but this is a minor detail. The 2.0mp camera is definitely not that great relative to today's mainstream phones, but it will take pictures decently when you really need to. I personally like the 5310 because of its relatively long battery life, easy connectivity to a Windows PC with the Nokia software, and high customization potential. There are a lot of themes, tones, etc. that one can download for the 5310 on the web. So to recap, if you want a phone that lasts a long time on a battery charge, is a brick phone, plays music well, and has a lot of customizations available, you should strongly consider purchasing the 5310.

Great for Music

3

I purchased this phone one year ago and it has a long battery life and love the music player quality.  My husband also has the same phone in silver and we both have had to have them replaced once now.  Something with the software messed up and T-Mobile replaced them with another refurbished handset since we have an insurance plan.  The phone is great in size, has very good music quality and the camera makes decent quality pictures.  The screen has a tendancy to scratch since it is exposed at all times unless you have it in a case.  I am a basic phone user and do not text or email from the phone but it does have these options.

Great sound quality hard to upload MP3's

3

The Nokia 5310 is a very good phone that has MP3 listening capabilities and also internet browsing as well.  When I first got this phone, I absolutely loved it. The phone comes with this Nokia PC Suite for your computer where you can upload pictures, videos, and music to your phone.  Ideally this is very useful and a great idea but the only problem is that it doesn't work that well.  When I went to upload some of my songs the phone only accepted about 3 out of 30 songs (all of which I bought).  This was very frustrating having to troubleshoot the problem, trying to convert the MP3's to a file format that was accepted by the phone which I had no luck doing.  However, the songs that I was able to get on the phone sounded absolutely amazing.  Another plus about this phone was it's ability to browse the internet.  Keep in mind it isn't the internet we are all used to seeing it has a relatively small screen but it fulfilled my uses for checking scores and e-mail.
