No Country for Old Men (DVD) Review Summary
"Bloody, intense, stylish, dark humor; it must be a Coen film." Since the success of Fargo, everyone knows the Coen brothers films well, and No Country for Old Men certainly fits the bill. Adapted from Cormac McCorthy's novel, some reviewers feel it was deserving of its Oscar wins, yet others feel other films perhaps deserved the wins a bit more. An action film that includes lots of violence, yet plays out like a Western, No Country for Old Men stars Tommy Lee Jones as a sheriff tracking down a killer that leaves no bodies unturned in his search for the big drug money. If reviewers find any fault at all with this film, it's with the ending. No Country for Old Men is an "explosively involved mental hayride of a movie!"

I love action flicks. I love shooting, daring escapes, and chase scenes. If I am jumping in my seat, and worried about the characters it is a good movie for me.
No Country for Old Men was one of those movies. It was start, violent and had some amazing characters. The academy got it right with the best actor, no question.
The ending was stark, but I think it was ment to be a slice of life movie, rather than having a full story arc. I tend to hate "Hollywood" endings so this was perfect for me.
I thought it was great, but I can see how others would not like it at all.
I saw this movie a few months ago, and still think about it frequently. It was such a suspenseful movie and at times funny. It was one of those movies that you do not want to end. It is a cat and mouse type chase throughout the movie and never really lets you rest. The acting I thought was awesome.... Josh Brolin did an excellent job. Tommy Lee jones was excellent. The villain was scary and excellent ( i forgot his name). Woody Harelson... not so excellent... I think they could have found a number of others to play his part... I bought this movie for my grandparents for Christmas last year and they didn't even make it through the first 20 minutes. It was just too real for them. They gave me the movie back and I watched it all the way through and was begging for a sequel!! I am completely de-sensitized and look for movies to scare me in any way possible. If you're looking for a good action movie and don't mind some good violence, this movie is for you. The actors and actresses do a great job. The music (or lack thereof) sets the tone well. I hear it strays from the book a bit with some things (i.e. the character played by Woody Harrelson in the movie has much more of an important part in the book), but it has been turned into a good screenplay.

This movie is extremely violent and vicious. I rented it because it was voted best picture. I thought it was a western on heroin. Lonesome dove on crack if you will. Pretty good pic if your into the serious action with a twist. I most usual stop watching a movie somewhere in the middle but I stayed for the whole movie oh and by the way my children did not watch this with me too violent.
I thought that this was a very interesting movie. It had some dark characters and a very odd, but likable sheriff. I found myself a bit at a loss a few times with the tangents that the writers took us on, but then again, it is the Cohen brothers. All in all it was a very good movie and well done.
