I went into this movie not know what to expect and by the end I thought that it was average at best. Before I go into what I did not like about this film, let me briefly describe some of the things I did like.

The cinematography and pacing of the film is excellent. The early landscape scenes with Moss are some of the most breathtaking scenes I have ever scene. The land's striking beauty amongst the rotting dead is visually magnificent. I like the whole idea of flipping a coin to decide one's fate and the fact that the girl says "I'm not going to pick, it has to be just you." Wow, that's some powerful dialogue and it has a great message.

Now, here are the things I didn't like. The pyschopathic killer is just not believable to me. It seems as if this guy kills several people a day just for the heck of it and no one seems in a particular hurry to track this guy down. Just doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Second, the ending of the film was very anti-climatic and leaves you with many unanswered questions. I felt as if I was cheated out of a proper ending after investing 2 1/2 hours of my time.

Another thing that I had a problem with is Woody Harrelson's character. He seemed to serve no real purpose and I don't even know why he was included. Perhaps the Coen brothers promised him a role in one of their movies so they obliged by giving him a meaningless cameo role.

Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy watching this film but I definitely don't think it is worthy of a best picture by any means.

I respectfully disagree. I thought the ending was excellent, well matched to the story. Enjoyed reading your review, though! Nice job!
