My husband is very active and full of testosterone, which can lead to certain smelly situations. He works out a lot, doesn't like to fuss much but worries about drying out his hair. I bought this on sale at a local drugstore because I thought it would be convenient, as well as free up space in his shower stall. This products works great. He loves that he only needs one bottle for everything. I like the smell, it manages to clean him up without overwhelming him with some sort of stinky mens' cologne smell. The bodywash keeps his hair clean without drying it out or making it greasy. It also cleans the rest of him quickly. I don't know about the shave part because he doesn't use it for that, so I can't comment on it. But as for the rest of it, it is a product that I will continue to purchase because of it's quality and convenience, as well as the fact that he only needs only bottle in his shower, which limits clutter as well.

Nivea Active 3 is supposed to be for showering, shampooing and shaving. Does it do all three well? I shave my head bald and I use the Nivea in the shower to shave it with. The product is very, very slick and allows my razor to get close enough for me to feel through the lather to know what little hair I have left to shave. It cleans my face well, but being a moisturizing soap, is seems to leave my face just slightly oily. This is okay for the first few hours, but having already oily skin, sometimes I don't feel all that clean after 4 or 5 hours. The same is true of it on my skin. It seems to leave me somewhat oily, feeling like it hasn't rinsed completely off. On the flip side, during really cold weather, when it is very dry indoors, it makes my skin, especially my legs, itch and feel exactly the opposite - it makes the skin there feel dry. I love the smell, since it smells like cologne and my wife loves it even more.

The Nivea for Men Active, 3-in-1 Bodywash, Shampoo, and Shave Gel is not all that the commercials say it is.  Its a really good body wash, it smells good and does leave you with a nice clean feeling.  The shampoo feature on the other hand is not nearly as great.  I have to lather and rinse 2-3 times to get my hair feeling clean.  With Suave products I only need 1 lather and rinse normally.  But, I have very oily hair so this may not be a problem for everyone.  Where this product really falls short is the "Shave gel" feature.  I've tried shaving with this product a few times, both in the shower and out, at no point have I gotten a close enough shave to be comfortable with.  This is the main reason I'm giving the product 2 stars.  I purchased the product to use as a shaving  product and body wash, however since the gel doesn't properly prep my face for shaving I hardly use it.  I've ended up leaving this at a friends house to keep on hand for use whenever I get snowed in. Overall, if you are looking for a good quality body wash, this is great and can double as a shampoo.  Just don't try shaving with it.  Also be prepared to pay 2x as much as you would for a comprable product from Suave.

I buy this for my boyfriend and he loves it but I love it even more than he does. This is the best smelling body wash ever! I love being around my boyfriend when he gets out of the shower or even just going into the bathroom right after he gets out because it smells like this! From what I understand the only drawback to this is using it as a shampoo. My boyfriend said it leaves a light residue in his hair that he doesn't particularly like but I've never noticed a difference when I run my fingers through his hair. So he rarely uses it as a shampoo and only a body wash. Also, it's not that expensive either. There is always a good sale on at the local stores around here and I stock up. It's just worth the deal when you see it on sale. My boyfriend hasn't mentioned wanting to try a new body wash so we will be sticking to this one until he decides he doesn't want to anymore. I highly reccomend!

As a guy, I like to have a minimal number of bottles and other stuff in the shower and when I saw Nivea Active 3, I thought this was a great idea but in turn it may have been to good to be true. I'm on the fence about it's ability for use as a shaving cream but as a body wash it feels like i leaves a film and I can't get it completely of my skin. my girlfriend thinks it has an interesting (undesirable) smell, and well I can't have that! And as a shampoo it just doesn't do it for me. I am getting a little older and my hair has just started to thin and this stuff just seems to wiegh it down and make it clumpy and greasy looking, in turn making the hair look much thinner than it actually is. Plus it doesn't do much for conditioning. I have never too been picky about what product is sitting on the shelf in the shower but I am deffinately not going to purchase this product again until they work out some of the kinks.

I first bought Nivea Active body wash because I had a really, really, good coupon. In other words, I got this product for free after a sale and coupon. My husband and 9 year old son always used Dial or Ivory when they showered or bathed. They were clean, but just boring clean. My husband wasn't so sure that it would be 'manly' to use body wash. I figured it would be in my best interest to start with my son. Nine year old boys are notorious for not not smelling the best...even after a bath. I shoved him in the shower, gave him a manly colored body puff (of coarse I didn't call it a puff) and told him to go to it. When my son came out of the shower he SMELLED GOOD...and not just for an hour, for a whole day. I loved the manly sent of this body wash. I love that he can use it for his hair, too. My son tends to have eczema and his skin was so much better looking. No more Ivory or Dial for him! He smelled so good my husband decided to give the body wash a try. He is now a body wash convert. Of coarse, I think he uses Ivory first, then re-washes with the Nivea, but it's a start. Some pro's of this product: The SMELL! It leaves my men soft. You can use it for hair also. The con's: Non that I can think of.

I had gotten this with a free cash back offer at the local drugstore. I had purchased it just because it was free and you can always use more body wash! I went home and stuck it under the cabinet for later use. Shortly after that my husband discovered it and put it in the shower. He uses it all of the time now!. It has a great smell and lathers up nicely. He enjoys just having to use only one product for both his hair and his body. He states that it gives a nice lather on the washcloth and it lathers nicely in his hair. Unkike others, he does not think it is difficult to was off. He does not like to use lotion and feels that the Nivea active3 has just enough of a moisturing effect that he does not need to. He has not attempted to use it as a shaving creme so I am not sure how well it works for that. Even being able to use one product as two makes this very cost effective. It may even work as three products as stated, we just have not used it as the shaving product.

My husband travels a lot so we are always on the look out for men's multi-use cleansing products to reduce the number of bottles he has to carry around.  This product was on sale at the drug store and the net cost to me was zero, so we gave it a try. And how I regret the decision! This product is fine to use as body wash and shampoo, but it is definitely not working for shaving cream. It caused severe irritation to my husband's facial skin, and he had horrible break-outs on his face after just one use. The redness and scars took several days to heal, and it hurt and sting. I was so mad I wanted to toss out the bottle. My husband is more forgiving though, and he kept it because he still likes the fragrance and the creamy texture. But now he makes sure he only uses it for body wash and shampoo, and keeps it out of his face. I would not recommend this product as a multi-use cleansing product because it simply didn't work when it claims to be "shampoo/shave/body wash in one". However, it's relatively new so there are a lot of sales, deals, and coupons. You can get this product for practically free or even as a money maker. So, it is an economical choice if you are simply looking for a "cheap body wash".
