I am by no means a car expert so take my advice with a grain of salt! However, our Nissan Xterra has gotten us through all of the trips to the home depot and carting stuff back and forth that comes with buying a house, moving, renovating a house, and moving back in. With all of that heavy usage, it's proven to be a good everyday car. I like that it's a mid-sized SUV - big enough to carry a lot of people, luggage or random stuff - but not so huge that parking is an issue.
On the downside, it doesn't get great gas mileage, which has become a bigger issue in the last year for obvious reasons. ...
