My son got one of these for his birthday 5 months ago. It was a "hand me down" from his cousin who had upgraded to a dsi. Amazingly enough it had not only weathered his cousin using it and toting it everywhere with him, but has worked perfectly for the past 5 months for my son as well.
It is great that there are so many games available both for adults, and for girls where some other game systems are lacking. The duel screens are very cool, although I do occasionally find myself looking at the wrong one (but maybe that's because I'm an adult; my son doesn't seem to have any problems!) ...
review »Our original review of the Nintendo DS listed only one "bad" characteristic: "Somewhat bulky." Whether it was because of early fan discord or because Nintendo has a propensity to redesign its systems--only the Nintendo 64 seemed to escape the extreme makeover treatment--the aforementioned complaint was addressed with a signature Nintendo remodeling. The Nintendo DS has been slimmed down and brightened up, and it's received a serious shot of vitamin style. Rechristened, the DS Lite attempts to make the same fashion statement for video game systems that the iPod did for MP3 players. The DS Lite is...
review »I bought my 8 year old a Nintendo DS Lite for her birthday. I found it on Ebay for $60.00 refurbished and I could not have picked a better toy! I bought a protective pink skin for 3 bucks and an extra stylist pen for about $6.00 on ebay also. It's easy to turn on, the screen is a great size and the quality of the picture is amazing. The games are very small and you can fit a few hundred in a small compact carrying case that looks like a wallet which I love. It holds a pretty good charge about 6-7 hours of continuous playing. It came with a really handy car charger with a very long cord so my child...
review »If you are looking for the best, most economical, versatile handheld video game device then you must purchase a Nintendo DS Lite. The DS Lite is very versatile in that it not only plays DS games, but it also plays Game Boy Advanced SP games. It is also has WIFI capability's that allow you to play against other players all over the world! The DS Lite is very compact an light weight which makes it easy for travel. The Nintendo DS Lite offers an impressive 3D rendered graphics and two ultra-bright screens. The DS Lite has two expansion slots for playing games. The first one is the Nintendo DS cartridge...
review »In May, I purchased a pearl pink Nintendo DS lite game system from Walmart. It was the first handheld game system that I've owned since the original Game Boy Advance from 2001! I wanted a new game system because it was very difficult to find game for my old one and I played with my cousin's DS and I was interested in owning it.
The Nintendo DS lite is very durable and easy to wipe clean (with a gentle cloth, not a tissue). It is also very hard to lose the stylus (the touch screen pen) because you store it in the side of the game system. It is very accessible because you can easily pop the stylus...
review »Like the console battles for the home television where the Nintendo Wii is regarded more as the system for casual gamers and families vs. a system like the XBox360, the war between portable systems like Sony's PSP and Nintendo's DS Lite is largely the same.
The PSP is more of a system for serious gamers focused on the quality of the systems graphics and realism. The DS is just a system for people looking for fun games to play on the go. it doesn't disappoint.
It also has more games than any other portable system. There are thousands of Nintendo DS games and even more available when you include...
review »I don't even know where to begin! I had the Nintendo Gameboy SP, and I was happy with that. I love handheld gadgets. A couple years ago the DS Lite came out with a bundle pack that came with the DS Lite and the game Nintendogs. We decided to get it for our daughter for Christmas. Well, that was it for me. I wanted one instantly. Eventually I got one, and I'll be honest, I play it every day. I love puzzle games, card games, arcade type games. I recently bought Scrabble and I am so happy about that because I have the board game, but no one plays with me. LOL. I also bought Press...
review »The Nintendo DS Lite is so grat. This game system is easy to use. The Nintendo DS Lite is so very user Friendly. It is easy for all ages to operate. Not confusing at all. The Nintendo DS Lite has lots of different kinds of games, games for all ages of children and adults. Children and adults both love to play this Game system.
Got one for my daughter last Christmas. She loves it and takes it everywhere with her. It has lots of different and cool colors to choice from. You can pick your favorite color. It has dual screen touch screen. Both my Grandchildren love it also so this christmas both...
review »The Nintendo DS lite is Nintendo's answer to the portable video game system. Nowadays, with the PSP (PlayStation Portable), there doesn't seem to be much difference in terms of quality, color, durability, but the Nintendo DS lite can also play older Sega games (mainly Game Boy Advance), which increases the range of playable games.
Unlike the new DSi, the original DS or DS lite (which is slimmer and lighter than the original DS) doesn't have the megapixel camera, a built-in web browser, or more battery power. But with the new DSi, you lose the ability to play Game Boy Advance games. And unless...
review »I just bought the Nintendo DS lite for my seven year old daughter for her birthday. It is one of the best things I have ever bought for her. The graphics are great and there is a wide selection of games to use. I love that she can use her old gameboy advanced games on this system. The two screens make it lots of fun. She uses this system for hours an never gets sick of it. The games are fun, easy, and she is able to understand them very well on her own. She is not the only one who uses it. Since we have had the DS lite me and my other half cant seem to put it down either. It is a great system for...
review »I asked for a nintendo ds lite for christmas last year. Even though I'm a mom I love this! I enjoy all the brain training games you can buy for it. The possibilities are endless, the games and downloads are endless too. It's something I use when I want some relaxing time before bed, while waiting in the doctors office, etc. I like the small, sleek design of this. The folding screen is nice, helps it to be protected and not get scratched as often. I also enjoy that the pen/stylus you use, fits right on the back of the console. That way I don't have to worry about the pen, losing it or where my children...
review »The Nintendo DS Lite is the best handheld console to have when you are away from home. There are tons of games you can find for under $20, which is great. I recommend shopping at Gamestop. You can get tons of used games for under $10 that are practically brand new. Before having the Nintendo DS Lite I was buying those cheezy handhelds you get from Wal-mart, K-mart, or Target for $5 or $10 a piece for example, Yahtzee, Video Poker, or Solitare. Those can get boring pretty fast. So why not upgrade??? If you had a DS Lite you can buy a game or two that has more than one game on it. Besides...
review »nintendo ds lite is great console , very useful for age 7 - 90 . very entertaining and some time educational too....The Nintendo DS Lite game console is now more impressive than before. At less than two-thirds the size of its predecessor and 20 percent lighter, this DS Lite is even more portable than the original Nintendo DS. Combine that with a longer, thicker stylus and you've got unprecedented levels of DS gameplay ease. Four brightness levels provide enhanced versatility; turn the brightness down when you want to conserve battery power, or give the brightness a boost when you need extra visibility....
review »I have two daughters, ages six and ten, and they have both a Nintendo ds lite game system. They have both had them since the ages of four and seven. They have enjoyed them very much and have gotten much use out of them. There is a large variety of kid friendly games available. It is more suitable for older children that can read, (7+) as most of the games involve reading, however, after a smaller child has had others read the screens to them, they usually have little difficulty playing on their own as they tend to memorize the instructions by the pictures. One small con, it's not able...
