Wii Sports

About Me:

O.K. I haven't played a video game since PacMan was new folks.  So far, our home has  avoided all hand held video games and any games that works with our television.

About Wii:

Wii Sports is a all in collection of five games including bowling, baseball, boxing, golf and tennis. ...

Wii Sports is a great game! It came with the Nintendo Wii, so it is the first game I ever played on it.

There are five "sports" you can play with this game: tennis, baseball, bowling, golf, and boxing.

In tennis, you simply swing the WiiMote to hit the ball.  In baseball, you can swing the bat or...

If somehow you got your Nintendo Wii without the original pack in game: Wii Sports here is a review just to see if it even worth your time. If you don't know the deal Wii Sports is a collection of Baseball, Bowling, Boxing, Golf, and Tennis all in one grand disc here. What makes the games so different from anything you ever played before in older consoles is that you would hold the Wii-mote like the in real life sport to help you understand what this system can do. Sure, the games are not as complex as some EA sports games out there but they do get ya off your butt.

In the Baseball game for example...

For the first time in more than a decade, Nintendo has shipped a console with a pack-in included. The title is Wii Sports and it's actually a compilation of five games designed from the ground up to make full use of the Big N's innovative remote. The disc, which ships for free with Wii in America and Europe, includes pick-up-and-play versions of baseball, boxing, bowling, golf and tennis, and learning the basics couldn't be easier. You just pick up the Wii remote and swing it like a baseball bat to whack the ball out of the park, or gesture an underhanded rolling motion to toss the bowling ball... review »

Of all the many sports games available Wii Sports for Nintendo Wii surely attracts everyone from 4 year old to seniors. The sports package project an active game-play and is sure a good way to get the player up on his feet to play this, as opposing to all the other video games and consoles. Playing games like Boxing gives one a total workout! You need not go to the gym to exercise! Just get your wiimotes and enjoy a round of Boxing on Wii Sports. The game uses realistic movements and hence in a way feel like you are playing the real sport. It is a good way to learn the basics of the sport. Nintendo... review »

If you want to lose weight these games will get you up and moving around. They are great fun, encourage participation and competition from loved ones. If you've got kids, they'll be sure to hang around now to play these games with you. I couldn't be happier that I chose Wii!

I have to admit I have every game system available. I use the Wii when I have company. Lately it has been my mother coming over to Wii. Wii sports has a bunch of options for games, but i think my favorite is bowling. I told my mother i wish we had a Wii when i was growing up so when we would fight, we could Wii box our anger away!

I can bowl in the comfort of my living room!!  Not that there's anything wrong with going to bowling alley in your pajama pants, but there eventually comes an age at which the embarassment about this takes over.  I haven't played any of the other games yet, but the bowling was incredibly easy to learn, even for someone who has never liked video games.  It is much more interactive than most games, so my gamer partner and I can play together, and even fun for parties.  A friend of mine brought her Wii on vacation with us, and gour old friends stood around bowling for hours!  It was a great reunion!... review »

Wii Sports is really fun for a video games that doesn't let you be a complete couch potato.  I like how I can get inactive people to get moving while playing a video games! Some of the games are kind of unrealistic but overall, the game is awesome.

Hey, you may actually break a sweat playing this video game, but you need no athletic skill to play it!  My two sons and I have the most fun playing this video game together.  There are actually several seperate games in this one disc.  There's baseball, golf, and I think four others, although I'm drawing a blank on what they are.  Golf seems to be the biggest hit with my sons.  They have an Uncle that comes just to play this game with them!

It sounds cliche, but this is the kind of thing that brings families together.  It's something that we can all do, and we have members of our family...

Wii Sports is included with the purchase of a Wii.  I am not a huge gaming fanatic or a sports fan, but the Wii is quite fun and the Wii Sports games are quite fun as well.  They also do a good job of showcasing the Wiimote's capabilities and several of the many ways they can be used to interact with the game system.  Here are my thoughts on the various Wii Sports games:

  • Baseball - Exciting and fun.  There should have been an option to pick between 3, 5, 7, or 9 inning games though.
  • Bowling - Really fun and anybody can play quite easily.  Gets everybody involved.  It would have been really...
