I remember the first time my husband and I played Zelda's Ocarina of Time and we were fully engroseed for a good couple months and were very satisfied when we finally finished the quest.  By the time we had finally finished Twilight Princess, we both looked at each other with a bit of disappointment.  Let me recount some of the good and bad things regarding this Wii version of Zelda.

First of all, the amount of gameplay and the sheer size of the world is pretty amazing.  I was amazed that we had played for a good 7 hours and had only scratched the surface of how vast the game is.  That being said, this vastness of the game also leads me to a certain critique of the game.  The game forces you to complete tasks in a very linear fashion and you are not really given the freedom to explore this huge world on your own.  I got tired of Midna constantly barking at me to do this or that.  I just wanted to tell her to shut up already.

Second, I had a serious problem with the muddy graphics especially when compared to Super Mario Galaxy.  Couldn't they have at least made the graphics look more crisp for the Wii version?  In some of the darker scenes, I found it hard to see unless I made the room as dark as possible.  Granted, there are some scenes and clips that are very nice, but this is few and far between.

I did like the way the game incorporated the use of the wiimote in Zelda but I still found myself just holding A and flicking the wiimote like crazy during battles.   9 times out 10 this was sufficient to kill whatever was in my path.  The bosses were also a little too easy once you figured out what to do.

The soundtrack is nothing special and didn't really add to the overall experience of the game.  I felt as if it was very similar to past Zelda games.

Despite all of these critiques, I still think it is a fun game and a must own for the Wii.  It will definitely give you your money's worth.  Just don't be surprised if you find yourself a bit underwhelmed after playing it.
