Nintendo Wii - Super Smash Bros. Brawl —

Super Smash Bros. Brawl was definitely one of the most anticipated games for the Nintendo Wii when it was announced around 2005/2006 and why not, eh? The game was a huge hit on both the Nintendo 64 and GameCube plus this edition was going to have a bunch of new and exciting characters too. Now after years of annoying and tedious waiting this crazy fighting game is finally out on the shelf so lets find out if it lives up to the hype.

There are several modes in the game and some of them even include story modes. In the new Subspace Emissary Adventure mode for example; you and or a friend can see how evil aliens and evil characters like Bowser and Wario are causing trouble in this parallel gaming universe. This mode is not only great for understanding what the heck is going on here but you can even unlock tons of goodies like pictures, trophies, and even secret characters.

If you played the other SSB before you'll fell right at home here. The goal in the game is to smack around your rival(s) so they become lighter and lighter and therefore become easier to knock in the air and once you completely sent them flying out of the stage you win (hopefully). Although a lot of game play is familiar, there is still crapload of new stuff of course (there better be since it's been over 6 years from the last SSB). The biggest new editions obliviously are some of the awesome new characters like long time Nintendo rival Sonic the Hedgehog. No you didn't read that wrong Sonic is actually in here and sure, Mario and Sonic already teamed up in the Olympic title but that game sucks and here you actually get to fight in out. There are also other big names like Snake (Metal Gear), Pit (Kid Icarus), Wario (from... Wario) and those are just a few of the 30 plus playable weirdoes and each one have their special and new smash ball super moves to watch out for.

Of course the game has over 30 all new locations like to fight across and tons of cool music remixes from their respective games too so you can tell Nintendo when all out on the presentation. Another big new edition is the online Wi-Fi support. Here you can share Friend codes with your contacts or just find random fights but the service isn't always the smoothest so may find some lag or sucky matches now and again. Sure, the online isn't perfect but at least it's there and are a bunch of different other insane modes that will easily have you clued to the TV for months or even years. Its video game crack! If you liked the previous ones then you'll love Super Smash Bros. Brawl, baby!

Super Smash Bros. Brawl overall rating: 97/100

The games are pretty easy to get the hang of too but the action can get a little too choatic at times as well.
