Nintendo has a bit of a problem here. Their Nintendo Wii machine was a huge success in 2006 but now they need more games. Since the GameCube is deader then Paris Hilton's career Nintendo cancelled the Paper Mario sequel and decided move it over here to the Wii. Nintendo could have easily slapped together...

Super Paper Mario
Nintendo Wii

The only video game I had ever played (and was any good at) was the original Super Mario Brothers for the Nintendo.  Think back 20 years....yep, that was the one!  I was good. I even saved the Princess....twice!

Fast forward 10 years and Dr. Mario was released for Nintendo...

Super Paper Mario-wii

First off. Lets start with this. If you have tween children and a Wii, this game is for you. Or rather, it is for them. However, if you are beyond your tween years, and are considering this game for yourself, read on.

If you wish games were just they were in the 80s, complete with bad graphics, way to much time spent reading lame text and giddy silly music, then this game is for you! If you are looking a game that is actually fun on the Wii, keep looking. Or try the new Guitar Hero game (recently released for the Wii).

Super paper Mario is quite simply for those who love Mario...

Super Paper Mario has stepped it up a notch from the predecessor on the Gamecube. The graphics have improved and the gameplay is more enjoyable. Mixing it in with the functionality of the Wii controllers makes this game a blast! The Wii-mote is held sideways for old school style gameplay. You can switch amongst different characters, different Pixls which assist the characters, and between 2-D and 3-D. The premise is entertaining as Bowser and Princess Peach both get kidnapped by Count Bleck. So it's not the usual us against Bowser as in most Mario games.

The game is definitely worth buying, just...

I absolutely loved this game! Super Paper Mario for Wii console allows the player to switch from 2-D to 3-D with the touch of a button! This is the first game that I have heard of that has this awesome feature. You can run or swim around the Super Mario world in with different colorful lands that incorporate all the characteristics of previously released Super Mario titles. The object of the game is to save Princess Peach as always and to do this you must collect stars and go through different obstacles using your Wii mote to do hand movements. You change between 2-D and 3-D to save yourself... read full review »

The only video games I have ever felt somewhat decent at have been the Mario series of the original Nintendo.  With that in mind, I was eager for a game involving Mario that had levels and bosses and all the things I was used to.  I liked this game for it's simple nature in that the majority of the game occurred on the 2-D platform.  At the same time, I liked the puzzle nature of trying to see what I was missing by switching between dimensions and using the pixls to complete different tasks.

The most annoying thing I found was the scrolling text, that you can't really skip.  It was fine reading...

I am a big fan of Paper Mario. I think this third installment in the series is the best one ever. I really like how it plays up the 2D factor of the game, In this game it extends the playing field, letting you go from the background to the foreground. You think you see a house, but you hit a switch, and there's a bridge to another area across the way.
My favorite part of this game is that it let's you play as other characters in the game, not just in a few cut scenes. My favorite character to play as is Bowser. He has some serious fighting power, even if he can't really jump. Each new character...

I'm totally hooked.  I'm a casual gamer and just got the wii a month ago.  This game was included with the system I bought, and not my personal pick.  At first I was really resisent to even try it.  When I finally got around to trying Super Paper Mario I was totally turned off by the excessive dialog in the beginning, I mean get on with it already.  But if you can make it past all the lengthy and at times ridiculous dialog you'll be in for a treat.  I have not been hooked by a game like this since super mario came out for the super nintendo.  It's difficult enough that you have to think,... read full review »

this game makes the perfect blend of old school platforming and new school rpg. great game. You go through challenging platforming levels, and along the way, gain levels. Rather than a traditional rpg battle system, you simply jump on your enemies, just like any old mario game played. Along the way you meet others who help you and give you special abilities. You get creatures called pixls that give you abilities such as shrinking, the ability to use a hammer, and many other abilities. It is well worth a buy, and is sure to please both hardcore and casual gamers. The learning curve is very quick...

All in all this was a decent game, though previous paper mario games were definately the highlight of the franchise. My major problem was that it was fairly easy to breeze thru this game. I wouldnt buy this game...Its more of a rent title

I was a little wary entering into this new world of paper mario (I never played the original paper mario), but i was pleasantly surprised.  The game play is great, and being able to jump from 2d to 3d is alot of fun.  The use of the wii-mote isnt as integrated as other games, but it is helpful at times, and necessary at others.  The game was a little difficult and some of the later levels, and takes considerable time to complete.  Plus, after beating the game, you can replay other levels - which I havent taken the time to complete.  With the recent release of Super Mario Galaxy, this game... read full review »

This game is surprisingly great. I did not expect much when I bought it but it seamlessly integrates a 3D feel into a 2D platformer. I played the Paper Mario game for the Gamecube and was satisfied and am currently playing the original on the Wii Virtual Console and found this game to be right in line with series. I thoroughly enjoyed it but the only downside for me is the length of the game. I beat the game in no time flat and now I am trying to find hidden things and things I missed, but I missed the storyline from the game not that I have beaten it.

Super Paper Mario was the first game I got for the Wii. I loved it! I could hardly put the game down to go to sleep or work! It kept me entertained for a long time! I really enjoyed how it took things from the original games and brought it up to speed. I think this game is something the family can enjoy and would definately recommend it to everyone! If you enjoed Mario on the nintendo you will love Super Paper Mario! I can't wait for more Mario games to come out!

I had to sit through 15-20 min of dialogue in the begininin of the game before you even start to do anything.  And you can't skip through it. Very slow moving and a lot of switching back and forth. They also don't talk right. I was really unimpressed with this game. I played it a couple a times thinking that it might get better as the game progressed but it never did. I finally gave up and sold it.
