Nintendo Wii - Super Paper Mario —

First off. Lets start with this. If you have tween children and a Wii, this game is for you. Or rather, it is for them. However, if you are beyond your tween years, and are considering this game for yourself, read on.
If you wish games were just they were in the 80s, complete with bad graphics, way to much time spent reading lame text and giddy silly music, then this game is for you! If you are looking a game that is actually fun on the Wii, keep looking. Or try the new Guitar Hero game (recently released for the Wii).
Super paper Mario is quite simply for those who love Mario games. I personally enjoyed them when they were the only fish in the sea many years ago. However, revisiting the same tired game play with marginal adjustments that seem more kitsch than cool, makes for some very unsatisfying game play. That is, when you actually get to play. You spend far too much time in "The Store" essentially and way too much time reading really bad text balloons that stand in for what could have been a decent narrative. All in all the game is a disappointment.
That being said, the game does not have any blood, gore, violence, gratuitous sexual content, or foul language. So if you are looking for a really clean game for your kids, then this is it. They may ask you to play with them. It will take you back to your youth when you first got your original NES Nintendo system. Then after about five minutes the charm will wear off and you will need to make some fast excuses.
For the avid gamer, this game only gets one star.
For the family gamer, this gets 4 stars, as it is almost purpose built for children.
