Nintendo Wii - Super Paper Mario Review

The only video game I had ever played (and was any good at) was the original Super Mario Brothers for the Nintendo.  Think back 20 years....yep, that was the one!  I was good. I even saved the Princess....twice!

Fast forward 10 years and Dr. Mario was released for Nintendo 64 and guess what? I loved it!  I could sit and play it for hours and hours.

Fast forward 10 more years and the ever-popular Nintendo Wii has been released and of course, I see Super Paper Mario. I was so excited!  I bought it immediately..waited a few hours for the kids to go to bed and my Hubby and I got busy...playing Super Paper Mario!

At first, I felt like I was watching a 30 minute movie...it drug on and on explaining what was to be done, etc.  Ok..got it. L et's get to the game. I want to jump on turtles and keep bouncing them into the block for free men.   That didn't happen.  After the introductory "movie", we started our way through the game.  Well, there is an option to go 3D and you have to do it many times throughout the game.  That was SO annoying.  I would get to the end of the level and realize I missed something...guess what? I had to go to 3D mode and find it.   We spent way too many hours that night trying to figure out Super Paper Mario and get moving along.  We finally stopped when we got stuck and couldn't figure out what to do, where to go...nothing.

The next day, I am online at Amazon.com buying the player's guide for Super Paper Mario.  It arrived in the mail the other day....I have yet to sit down and read how to get out of the current jam that I am in but I have HOPE.

I won't give up on Super Paper Mario. I have been a Mario fan for decades now and other than the recent Guitar Heroes and Rockband, it really has been the only games my son could get  me to play.

So...off to reading my manual and attemping to save that Princess...yet AGAIN!
