Nintendo Wii - Rayman Raving Rabbids —

Rayman: the lovable limbless hero is back in action yet again has he makes the jump over to the Nintendo Wii. Those expecting this Rayman game here to play like the older platformer games of the past will be in for a shock to find that this edition is now a collection of mini games kind of like Wario Ware. Good thing for us though the wacked out games here are very fun to play and even use the Wii-motes in a cool new way. See why if want something different in your next gaming experience this is definitely worth checking out.

In the game Rayman and his friends are just minding their own business at a picnic then suddenly they get captured by a huge group of cute but evil bunny rabbits (or rabbids has they're called here). Now that Rayman is their prisoner he's forced to compete in several studium events with the wacky rabbids themselves. Winning these games not only unlocks different goodies like new outfits or multi-player options but the more you play the more the story unfolds and you learn what the deal is with these crazy bunnies here.

Rayman's main goal is trying to find a escape but to be fair this is a great place to be inmate because these different mini games will have you throwing your arms around like crazy. The events range simple tests like tilting the Wii-mote so it moves a ball through a obstacle course (disgustedly in an rabbid's brain no less), to more extreme games where you quickly move your arms up and down to help Rayman run. There are four events you can try out before going to the next level but each one contains special dancing games where you hit the beat at the right moment, and even huge shooting galleries where you blast away the bunnies with toilet plungers.

Surprisingly, RRR has some of the best graphics I seen in a Wii game. Unlike in Nintendo's Wario Ware Smooth Moves all the stages here have a lot detail in the characters and good use of lighting and shadow effects in the backgrounds. You can tell this is UbiSoft game too because sometimes the rabbids wear those freaky Splinter Cell googles which was a nice touch. When the crowds are full the rabbids look pretty blurry and flat but the rest of game looks great. The background music isn't too bad either and some of the stages even have licensed tracks like Cindy Lauper's 'Girls just wanna have fun' and many more.

OK, it may sound totally weird but in the end I really started to love this game. Some of the games are way too short and the controls can be too sensitive at times but with it's solid graphics, cool sounds, funny theme, and tons events there is a lot to like here. Rayman Raving Rabbids a great buy just so you can snack a few evil bunnies around.
