Nintendo Wii - Mario Party 8 — 

Mario Party 8 is so much fun!  We all fight over who gets to play though... being a family of 5 there is always one person left out which is really sad.  Usually we'll have the youngest who is 4 (now) jump to hit the dice for many of our turns while we play the actual game.  When dad is at work though the kids and I go crazy.  We love all the Mario Party games but there is one or two annoying things about Mario Party 8.  The sounds!!!  Horrible.  Why they made Donkey Kong sound like a pompous rear end, with that fake laugh of his... I have no idea!  And the "Host" same voice... WHY?!?!?!  The other characters say some pretty cocky things too.  Why say "I'm the best" or cry when you lose?  Sure it's funny but it's also pretty simply -dumb.  OK, ok that's one of my issues with Mario Party 8.  The other is the boards.  They took the option of choosing what to play away with making certain rules for each land.  What happened to doing the traditional get as many coins / stars and win thing?  We loved the earlier Mario Parties where the whole point of all the different settings was collect coins, collect stars.  If anyone at Nintendo is reading this know that my family does not like the other games.  They especially dislike the hotel one where you have to out bid the previous bidder to keep control of the hotel? houses aka the stars. 

Other families may disagree.  All in all Mario Party 8 is awesome to spend time with the family.  There are days when we all just feel blah and can grab a wii remote and just party, party, Party ourselves into a better mood.  Thank you Mario Party!
