We bought the Wii fit board when it came out and I have played it everyday since. I wanted to give it several days before I wrote a review. If I had wrote this after playing it once, I would have rated it 5 stars, but I have found a few things I would change.

Wii Fit in a nutshell:
Wii fit is a "board" that comes with a fitness "game". The board is placed on the ground, and you stand on it. When you first play it, you will make a character mii, and it will take you through a balance test and give you your fitness age based off of your performance and your bmi. My first test had me 9 years older that I was, YIKES! Since this is sensitive and personal info, you can create a password so that noone else can view your bmi, weight, etc. You then get games and training exercises in the following categories: Strength training, yoga, balance games, and aerobics. You also get to pick a trainer for strength training and yoga, either a male or female. Strength training is different exercise, such as push ups, lunges, and many others. Yoga is yoga stretches, aerobics has games that get you going like hula hoops, step aerobics, running, and others, and balance games are mini games that test your balance, like walking a tightrope, skiing, ski jumping, and others. You get coin points for every minute you play, and after so many coins, you unlock new games, yoga poses, and different things in every category. Also, as you improve on certain games, you will unlock advanced versions of the game you were playing-for example: when I got good at hula hoop, I unlocked the advanced hula hoop game. After you play, you can do another test and see your progress. I have decreased my age by 8 years after all my playing. You can view your charts and see your progress too! Now, this is just a basic description of the wii board and wii fit game, there is so much more fun and other details.

My thoughts:
I pretty much love the board and game. I think anything that makes exercising fun is a great idea and gets thumbs up from me. I think that these games are great and I do feel like I get a great workout by using this. I really like that you can pick any game you want, in whatever order you want, so you can mix up your work out daily. I also like that it is great for beginners or advanced people. I am not a small fry, so I was a little scared that I might not be able to keep up, but I have advanced greatly on each game and love beating my previous score. Since it keeps track of your scores and anyone else who plays, we have fun competing here in my house for the top scores. You can also log outside exercise, so I like that I can see what I have done each day. I walk a trail by my house, so I always add the time spent there to the log, so then I can view my total minutes with the wii fit to see how much I worked out any particular day. The games are fun, and the strength training and yoga are rear-end kicking, but great anyhow. I look forward to completing a new pose, or whatever it may be. I have not even remotely gotten tired of anything on there, and look forward to using it each day. I really think that even when I unlock everything, I will still be using it. My main complaint is that every day I have taken the test, it shows that I have lost between 2 and 4 lbs and that is in no way possible. So, I don't know how acurrate the scale on the board is, so I don't hold my results on weight and BMI with much credit, but I do tend to believe the balance scores. I do think that this will help my posture, at least I am now much more aware of it. I also wish that it counted calories as you worked out, that would have been a great accessory for this, especially since the over-all goal is to either lose weight or gain strength. This is a great thing to have and fun to play, regardless if you want to lose weight, become stronger, or just have fun!! Two fit thumbs up, way up!!!

I generally don't like exercising, so I always have to find new, fun ways to get physically fit. I'll definitely have to add WiiFit to the exercise list! Thanks!

LOL, I will never unlock the advanced step aerobics because I keep letting the gang down on the regular one. I am so rhythmically challenged. I suppose the scale part of the board doesn't take the place of a real scale but it is wacky to see yourself losing weight like that daily. Mine has stayed roughly the same except one day when I suddenly gained 3.3 pounds. I hated seeing THAT!

They do run kinda scarce. I pre-booked my fit, and the wii itself for that matter because of that. But wait it out, they seem to keep popping up in stores! You will enjoy it!

The double hula hoop is crazy. I unlocked the advanced step aerobics and I can say is WOW - shin splits!!! I input my clothing weight too. I guess it depends on the board itself, my mother in law keeps gaining 2 and 3 lbs a day, which isn't accurate, but my friends has kept her the same, so not sure what is going on, but I wish I was losing 2 lbs or so a day!!!

That double hula hoop is crazy! I did it for 12 minutes (six minues each game) last night and my old hips are sore today! lol. I wish my weight would go down! The scale seems pretty accurate to me. I do have to input that I am wearing less than a pound of clothing though because I just wear shorts and a sports bra or T when working out. I enjoy it but hate step aerobics! Blah. Good review. :)

A Wii and Wii fitness is definitely on my wish list. I can't wait to try this. I know that they seem to be scarce in the store but they'll come in. ;-)
