Wii was ok for a few months but my sons lost interest quickly.

If you're an adult and understand what Nintendo's Wii is really like, then you should be happy with your purchase. There are a lot of games for it that cover all of the genres from helping you to get "fit," to helping you improve your bowling, to playing plastic instruments and singing like you're a Rock Star.

If your children are begging you to buy them a Nintendo Wii, I would suggest that you think twice, especially if you already have an X-Box 360.

My sons played their Wii for a few months after they got it, but it wasn't long before they were back to playing their X-Box 360 and the Wii was, and still is, sitting on the entertainment center collecting dust.

The Wii has graphics that re...

Though it was a bit pricey ($200 + warranty at Sam's Club) when I bought it a year ago, it was worth it. I used it every day for a couple months straight - I used the Wii Fit in an attempt to get in shape (which helped while I was using it). The only thing that I would recommend is getting the Wii remote docking station, so the batteries can be recharged, as I went through batteries pretty quickly with this. A great bonus is that I can play GameCube games with my Wii (I have quite a few, so this is really beneficial to me), and I can even use the GameCube remote controls with it as well. This is also beneficial, as I currently only have one Wii remote, but I have about 4 GameCube remotes. I use this to watch movies on my TV via Netflix as well, which is a relatively new feature, but it's so nice! Being able to watch a movie on your TV when you feel like it (instead of watching in on the computer all the time) is so convenient. All in all it was a good investment!

I love it.  Our kids love it.  Our friends love it.  It combines that absolute best technology for physical movement with the absolute cutting edge video games available.  People used to like the Xbox more, because it offered games the wii didn't.  Not anymore!  They seem to be available across platforms now, so anything you like - you can find something just like it for the wii!  It never gets old, it's amazing.  It has games that my 3 year twins enjoy playing, like Mario Galaxy or some of the included sports games like bowling.  And my wife and I enjoy the more adult games, like the Zelda mythos games.  And when my elderly parents (both in their upper 70's) come to visit our house, even THEY find games that they can enjoy.  The physical technology of the wii seems to support event the most "technologically challenged" of players by accomodating for inconsistencies in movement.  Overall, it provides a very lifelike experience.

The Nintendo Wii: A stroke of genius

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

A couple of years ago, the buzz was that Nintendo had decided it could no longer afford to compete with Sony and Microsoft in a third generation of super game platforms and that they were going to retrench to a smaller simpler niche.

While Sony and Microsoft threw massive amounts of money at there new offerings and introduced game platforms with some incredible graphic capability, Nintendo quietly struck out into a new direction and launched the Nintendo Wii.

Well, the people have spoken and anyone who had counted Nintendo down for the count have some pondering to do.

Nintendo did in fact go in a completely new direction.  And that direction has gotten its fan's fannies off the couch...

The Wii Game Console is great for parties and get-togethers

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

Last Christmas we splurged and bought the kids a Nintendo Wii Game Console.  Although the price was steep (about $ 300.00) there were such a large variety of video games available for the Wii, and we had heard so many positive things about it, that we felt it was worth the money for a Christmas gift.

The Wii Game Console womes with one controller with wrist strap, the console, and a Wii Sports video game.  What makes the Wii unique is that it in an interactive video game, that gets users off the couch and into active play that uses movement to control the game.  You can buy (and I would highly recommend doing so) additional controllers so more than one person can play, as wel...

The Wii is truly AMAZING technology!

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

Considering I grew up on Atari games, which basically meant two dots battling or racing against each other....I am AMAZED at what the Wii can do!  I bought it for my son for Christmas, and I'll tell you what.  We've had family members come to the house just to play the Wii!  We have a few golfer's in the family that come over to practice their swing!!  When my son is feeling lazy and doesn't want to actually get up and play, he just sits around and makes new Wii characters to choose from later on.  There is NOTHING I can say negative about this product, except that it is expensive.  But in reality, ALL the systems are.  This one is just so much more unique & exciting.

I bought the wii for my daughter about two years ago.  I didn't want to at first, because no one else in the house plays video games.  This would be one pricey toy for one child.  I bought it anyways.  My daughter loves it.  All of her friends love it too.  My husband even thinks that it is interesting.  Now we have a toddler son.  He can't play with it, because I am scared that he'll break something,. he he really wants to play with it.  During the winter and fall the wii gets lots of play, but during the summer and spring the wii is never played with.  It did not turn my child into a lazy girl.  I love the Mario games.  My daughter loves mario and wii sports.  There are tons and tons of games to choose from.  I would like to get the exercise wii games, but I never really play with the wii enough.  The worst thing about the wii is the price.  This toy costs a lot and so do the games.  I would buy it again.

We've had our Wii console for a few years now and while we don't play it regularly (certainly not every day or even every week) when we do play everyone has fun! Set up was so easy and once you get the trick and "feel" fo the remote sensor you are ready to go. We play a lot of the basic sport package game and it really is so much different than the Nintendo of my youth where you sat there and your hands cramped up from playing the controller. With the Wii your whole body is involved and depending on what you are playing you actually get up off the couch to play and can work up a sweat! My parents enjoyed playing ours so much they got their own and it is fun to have a stay home date night at the bowling ally in our living room :)

Great for family fun and exercise

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

We got a Wii for a family Christmas gift. My husband (45), myself (42), our special needs daughter (13), and our active son (9) ALL really enjoy playing the games. So far, we have used Sports, Sports Resort, Star Wars Lego, Wipeout, and a walking game. Our next choice is to get one of the dancing games. The drawback of the Wii is that it can become very addicting! But, its a fun way to spend time together as a family, to learn some new sports, try some new skills, experience teamwork, and have healthy competition. It is especially nice that, unlike game consoles of the past, you are up and moving instead of just sitting there moving your thumbs. My husband set the system up and it did take him...

You need a Wii. You may not think you do, I didn't, but you need it. Especially if you are part of a family. The Wii is a Nintendo gaming console(as if you didn't know that) geared towards family play that uses motion controls. It's actually pretty small and boasts a variety of games as well as backwards comparability with the Game Cube. There are a number of downloadable games in the online store( New and old ones on the virtual console). There's even a browser that's good for watching Youtube videos. That's not why you need this console though. No, let me give you two words: Wii Sports. Wii. Sports. It comes free with the console and it will be the most fun you've had in a while (assuming you're not playing alone). You will spend most of the first day playing bowling and the next day your entire body will hurt so much and you know what you'll do? You'll go back and keep playing. It's that addicting. Bottom line? Get. A. Wii.

So amazing

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

This product is amazing.  I recently purchase the Black Wii.  It is sooo gorgeous.  Sleek black with wonderful simple lines.  Its very easy to set up.  I was playing within 15-20 minutes after I received it.  My mom is generally a gadget phobe,  but she learned so quickly and was truly enjoying her self.  I have the Wii fit plus as well as resort games.  It should be interesting, i have already played tennis, bowling, boxing, baseball and golf, in order of how I like them.  Tennis gives the best workout, then boxing.  Bowling is really fun with the whole family.  I do recommend getting extra controls because it b...

Nintendo Wii is fun

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

We have had are nintendo wii for over a year now. I just love it. This is one of the greatest games systems out there because you have to get up and move around. It is almost like going to the gym and working out but with one difference you do not know that you are getting a work out when you play the wii. You will feel it the next day though. The wii also offers wireless connection to the Internet so you can do all your updates and even play a movie from netflix on it. There are a lot of games that are fun for the hole family and some of there games have anywhere from 1 to 50 games all on one disk. You can buy points to buy the old school games and play them on the wii and these games ...

Nice system

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

The wii console system is one the greatest nintendo made that it brought to a whole new level of playing with the wii controller. The wii is like playing wireless controller of video game such as shooting, sports, adventure and many more. The wii feature motion sensor so if the character of the game get hit or sense something it will send a big vibrate that you got no choice but to make a move for yourself to attack or avoid by the enemy. The wii feature some of the things you want to know such as the wii store, internet, download game, and other kind of stuff that you will like. The controller is kind of easy to move when you turn the system on but when playing a video game it is kind of ha...

We debated for a long time between buying the Nintendo Wii and the Playstation 3.  Since we already had a Playstation 2, we decided it was time to change things up and we bought a Wii.  I'm so glad we did!  It is one of the best gaming consoles I have ever played.

A lot of the games available for the Wii are interactive, so you actually have to physically move to get the games to do what you want them too.  This is great because it gets kids off the couch and moving, even if they are playing video games.

There are a lot of options for the Wii as well.  You have the traditional fighting games for the Wii as well as sim type games.  You can also buy Wii points and get games that you used to be able to play on the original Nintendo or Sega.  That is definitely one of my favorite features about the Wii.  This feature might not be as popular with the younger generation, but it is definitely popular for people in their 20s and 30s who grew up with the original Nintendo.

Definitely Fun For the Whole Family

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

Playing the wii is really fun, and great for parties and family time. I've had it for almost four years, and I still play it. It might just be that my husband and I are busy, in our twenties, and don't entertain much, but we don't play it a ton. We have recently started playing it more often with the wii fit. In any case, here's how everything works after four years:

The console itelf: I haven't really had any problems with it as far as overheating and/or malfunctioning. (Then again, I don't really play it for hours and hours on end).

The remote and nunchuck: It bothers me that the batteries have to be changed so often. I've used just the normal ones and the rechargable ones, but t...
