Nintendo Wii Console Review Summary

The Nintendo Wii is a huge hit with the young and old as well as classic players and non-traditional gamers. Everybody loves it. Game console reviewers admit that the Wii is not the sharpest game console in terms of graphics, but the fair price and compatibility with classic Nintendo games make this top rated game system a must- have. “Pure fun,” say game players. “Very interactive.” Reviewers can not stop raving about it. If you can't get your hands on one, or want to compare it to other game consoles, you are in luck. Viewpoints has them all. You can also get great suggestions for game reviews too. This new age unit here is a very small and slim gaming-only console that comes with new way to play video games and it is said to be three times more powerful then the Gamecube itself.  We'll see. — If you do manage to find one (dam, the girl at Walmart said it would be much easier to… read full review »

I got a Wii about 2 months ago. My kids (5 and 7) loved it for about 2 weeks, and after that they don't play it so much. I loved the Wii Sports, but even that got old quickly and I find myself back to watchingCash Cab or playing WoW. So for us, the Wii turned into a very expensivepaper weight.… read full review »

When our son-in-law asked for a new video game for him and my grandkids last Christmas, I had no idea what he was talking about. The game was by Nintendo and it was called the Wii. We went looking and finally ended up with a gift card for the Wii at WalMart as the game sold out as soon as it came in. They finally picked it up in late January or early February. When we went to their house for a visit we were introduced to the Wii. We fished, did target practice, matched some Wii people, and a hilarious race game called "Cow Racing". Cow Racing was so much fun that I… read full review »

I used to be totally anti-video game but Wii changed my mind! I love the cool graphics, especially the create your own Mii character. Very creative in my book! Wii bowling is probably my favorite Wii game but I plan on branching out to to other games. Thank goodness for a new console that gets people off their butts and… read full review »

A couple of years ago, the buzz was that Nintendo had decided it could no longer afford to compete with Sony and Microsoft in a third generation of super game platforms and that they were going to retrench to a smaller simpler niche. — While Sony and Microsoft threw massive amounts of money at there new offerings and introduced game platforms with some incredible graphic capability, Nintendo quietly struck out into a new direction and launched the Nintendo Wii. — Well, the people have spoken and anyone who had counted Nintendo down for the count have some pondering to do. —… read full review »

My Playstation 2 and Nintendo NES have been collecting dust lately because the foster kittens chewed through most of their cables.  We aren't big gamers, so we weren't in any rush to go out and buy new wires for them.  I picked up the Nintendo Wii last weekend, though, on a whim because I knew they were still very in demand and because my friends have been talking about how much fun they are.  — — After messing around with our Nintendo Wii for the past week, I have to say that I am very happy with the purchase! Many of the games are interactive and require you to… read full review »

I firmly believe that Nintendo has been the progenitor of every major advance in video games since the introduction of the Famicom. The Wii does that through the motion sensors that everyone knows about - but it's flexible enough to handle traditional gameplay. To me, that's the genius of the device - you can play most games of your childhood quickly and easily. Plus, there's a power button on the controller to turn on the console. I bought the DVD remote for my Playstation 2 because I couldn't handle having to walk across the room to turn it on to play Guitar Hero II. — I'm here to… read full review »

Want to do more than just shoot bad guys and race around a track? Wii is the way to go. It makes you actually part of the gaming process, not just a couch lump pressing button wildly. The available games not only improve coordination and fine motor skills, but provide actual brain-enancing benefits. I am over 40, and I have noticed a huge difference in my ability to concentrate at work (I do lots of technical stuff) and my dexterity in handling small objects and tasks.  I have a mild case of rheumatoid arthritis, and this game has actually helped my hands and feet feel better (because in… read full review »

I think this is overall a great video system. I don't really mind my son playing it for a few hours because he is not just sitting on the couch zoning out. Not that I think it is educational, but great for any child who needs a little excercise. —     This is also a video system that adults alike can play and enjoy. We take it to family functions and have competitions against each other. It really brings the family together! —      It was a litlle pricey, and so… read full review »

My family and I have loved this game system! It has something for the whole family. We have found that it is very user friendly and easy to use. In the past we have bought my 3 yr old son game systems that were supposed to be age appropriate that he could not use because they were too difficult to understand but, this system he has already figured out.  The controllers are easy to hold and the box itself is small and light. We have transported several times and had no problems with it. We love the fact that you can play games online with others and the wide range of games available.… read full review »

BUYER BEWARE!I cannot believe how many people are shelling out so much money on eBay for items that should not cost that much. I myself have recently been doing a lot of research as I just bought a Nintendo Wii system at Toys R' Us but had originally considered buying it on eBay (hence, the reason I created an account in the first place), so I got a pretty good grip on the prices. So let me break it down for you (keep in mind that this article relates only to brand new items): — A Nintendo Wii's retail value (as in just the box: the system bundled with a remote, a nunchuck and Wii… read full review »

I was trying to decide on whether to buy an XBox 360, a PS3 or a Nintendo Wii. The issue I always run into is that I am a huge fan of videogames and my husband is not. So I end up playing games by myself, which doesn't really help when it comes to relationship-building. One day we walked into a video game retailer and I saw him playing a tennis game demo on a Wii. He looked so entertained! That day I decided I needed to get myself one of these units. It took me a while to find one, but when I did, I purchased one for myself and another for my brother-in-law. This was 4 months ago and… read full review »

Wow!  Our family received this as a gift from a favorite Aunt as an early Christmas present.  Almost the entire family can play.  Our four year old is getting the hang of it, but the 2 year old is still too young.  The 12 year old and the 9 year old absolutely love it. — Wii Sports came with the console.  The sports disk includes:  baseball, bowling, tennis, boxing and golf.  The on-screen instructions tell you exactly how to use the controller.  These are great games even for beginners or for the not-so-good gamer like me.  (I bowl… read full review »

If your like me you were to old to get on the early 80's video game explosion because you were working and raising a family then I must say "GET A Wii" it's a HOOT!!! You actually can get a work-out playing plus you can purchase the original games and see what started the video craze...I never really thought I'd get into the video game market other than for my kids, but now I am searching around for video games I would enjoy. And because we are older we can throw a Wii party and have a few couples over for dinner then maybe some Wii bowling or… read full review »
