My husband bought me a Coral Pink Nintendo DS for Valentine's Day. I have always wanted one, but I never spent a huge amount of time playing them, I never really got hooked. I have to say, this is the best handheld video game system I have ever played. I am a huge fan of Nintendo because I have always been hooked on Mario games and Zelda games, they are so addicting.
My favorite color is pink, so naturally that it what I had to have. But it also comes in black, white, blue and crimson. My three year old daughter even loves to play it. We found her a couple of games that were geared towards preschool children and she caught on quite quickly. One thing I do recommend is that you buy screen protectors, no matter what age the person playing it is. No matter how hard you press on the screen with the stylus, you are bound to get some scratches with use.
A couple of games I would recommend for the Nintendo DS would be Brain Age 2 and Mario Party DS. Brain Age 2 is a lot of fun because it makes you really think about things, and there is a variety of things to do on there. Mario Party DS is just plain fun, and you can invite your friends over who have their own Nintendo DS, and play against them without them even having the game.
One of the biggest benefits to the Nintendo DS is it's price. It is ony $129.99, which is cheaper then the Sony PSP. The games are relatively cheap, most under $29.99. Considering PS3 and the Nintendo Wii have games costing $50 and $60, this is really inexpensive. If you are looking for a video game system with a variety and high replay value, I would recommend the Nintendo DS system.
