I recently purchased Cooking Mama for my three and a half year old daughter because she is really into her Nintendo DS and would play it all the time if I gave her the opportunity to do so. She has quite a few video games now, but I wanted something fun to add to her collection of games. I purchased Cooking Mama for her used at our local video game store to try out.
This is really a game of trial and error, and since there is a lot of reading required, I played it with her a couple of times to teach her how to play. You do not have to use the controller, just your stylus so it is really simple to play. All you do is create different dishes, and prepare them like you were really cooking.
It can be difficult sometimes because you have to do things quickly, and you are on a timer. Once you have played it a couple of times you get used to it. You will also collect different dishes to make the more you play, so the game play lasts a long time. There is no multiplayer mode on this game that I know of.
If you are looking for a fun puzzle game with a different twist I would highly recommend Cooking Mama. It is a lot of fun, and it is easy enough that the whole family could play!
