Nim's Island

The basics:

A young girl named Nim grows up on a deserted island with her scientist father, surrounded with her island friends and an addiction to a literary hero named Alex Rover. When her father goes missing she intercepts an e-mail from Alex Rover, who turns out to be the author of her favorite hero - but what Nim does not know - Alex is actually Alexandra. A recluse writer, who hasn't left her home in years but summons the courage (from her own hero) to go to Nim in her time of need.

My viewpoint:

This was such a lighthearted comedy - perfect for kids and adults a like. The cinematography is amazing and the island animals are (with Nim's help), hilarious! Jody Foster plays the part of Alexandra and she kept me giggling throughout the whole movie. This is one to see for anyone young at heart!

I also loved this movie! I took my niece and nephews to see it once it came to the $1 cinema. They loved it. I told friends it was like a wilderness version of Home Alone. Jodi Foster played an agoraphobic to a tee!
