Nikon - L20 Red 10MP Digital Camera Review

Our family loves to take pictures.  When my husband has a camara in his hand he tends to get a bit carried away.  Recently we were on vacation and my husband was being himself getting carried away with our camera, trying to take a video while driving a Go-Cart, yes you read that right a go cart.  So he ends up dropping the camera, and my son who was right behind him ran over the camera with his go cart.  This was a really nice camara and this was devastating. Needless to say we couldn't go the rest of our vacation with out a camera, but we didn't want to spend a lot of money on a new one.  So we went to a local Walmart where we are staying anad picked up a new camera but we had to pick a cheap one as we were already over budget on the vacation.  we bought a Nikon L20 10MP Digital Camers.  It is in the red color which is a deep shiney maroon.

It is a simple 10 Mega Pixel camera.  It has a 3.6X optical Zoom, with a 3.0 High Resolution LCD Screen.  The biggest feature of this camera is that it is good for portrait taking it is good for taking pictures of people.  When it detects a face or faces it automatically makes the face the priority of the picture and has automatic red eye reduction. It also has a Motion Detection automatically detects subject movement and adjusts the shutter speed and ISO to compensate for camera shake and minimize image blur.  It also detects when your subject is smiling and releases the shutter.  It also has a blink warning that sends you a warning if your subject blinks. The camara also automatically detects the correct setting for picture taking.  This is really nice for me because I often choose wronge, it adjusts up to ISO 1600.  It also has D - Lighting which allows you to take pictures in darker rooms and it automatically lightens the photo.

The camera weighs 2 pounds and is heavier than you would expect it to be.  For its 3.8 x 2.4 x 1.1 inches size. 

The camera uses 2 AA batteries.

You will also need to purchase an SD memory card for the camera additionally.  The memory card is very in-expensive though. 

This camera also takes really nice video.  It has a longer movie taking capability then our last camera which was a nice and more expensive camera but was a couple years old.  Zooming in and out while filming is no problem.

The camera comes with a one year warranty on parts and labor.

Considering the low price of this camara I have to say I am really impressed by the camera.  It seems to correct all the issues that I have with photo taking.  In other words it helps me take better pictures.  If you want a great camara for a really small price (we paid $120) then the Nikon L20 10M Digital Camera in the lovely deep red color.
