 The Nikon D80 is a great SLR digital camera, that beginners or experienced photographers would find user friendly. A benefit to this camera is the manual focus feature. For the experienced photographers it gives them the option to use manual focus while it is still possible to use automatic focus. There are many settings on the camera that the experienced user and non experienced will find useful. The Nikon D80 is the very best Digital camera out there. I have owned a couple of others and used a few to see if they were what I was looking for. I am not a professional but enjoy a good camera.

The D80 has more than an amature needs and everything a beginning professional would want. The sharpness of the pictures are perfect. It has red-eye and many other features right on the camera to 'fix' a photo.

I love taking pictures of flowers, waterfalls and just about anything in nature. It is a bit bulky but it's well worth getting the shots you want. Just buy a neck band to help with hands free....

I have had this camera for just over 2 years and I just can't get enough of it.  I bought it to take pictures of everything and I can do that.  From my new grandchildren, to pictures out of a plane, my son's rugby games and on a voyage to Alaska and its wonderous scenery it takes it all with ease.

I love my Nikon D80 Digital SLR camera.  My husband bought it for me for Christmas 2 years ago and I have taken 1000s of pictures since then.  It is a great camera that take fantastic pictures in the completely automatic mode.  It also allows me to put it in partial automatic mode, and change just the settings I want to change.  There are mode for taking portraits, nighttime pictures, sports pictures, landscape pictures, and more.  These modes are easy to switch to at any time.  It also allows me to put it in a mode for "shutter priority" or "aperture priority".  In these modes, for example,...

I use to have and use the Nikon D1X. The Nikon D1X was a high end camera for it's time. The Nikon D80 makes this camera seem like it's an awkward boat anchor hanging around your neck. I purchased the Nikon D80 when the Nikon D90s were coming out and I got a great deal on the camera body. the body is light weight and It has a higher ISO settings than the Nikon D1X. The Nikon D1X went to 800, the Nikon D80 goes over 1000. It's just as easy to shoot manually with the Nikon D80 as it is with the Nikon D1X. My only issue is shooting RAW with the Nikon D1X because Photoshop CS2 can't read the type...

I currently own a Nikon d80 and let me tell you, it is a fantastic camera! I had previously owned a nikon F100- film camera and decided to switch over to digital. Wow what a great camera it is. The photos are truly beautiful. They are of professional quality. The camera is well made and sturdy. I have 4 different lenses, and the ease of changing them out is unbelievable. The Nikon D80 is a great camera for people who feel limited by the point and shoot cameras out there today.  I think having some photography experience is helpful, but even if not you can just set the camera on the automatic settings and get some great shots!  I love mine!  Get a decent zoom if you can, not neccessarily a Nikor brand since they're so expensive, I got a Sigma for mine, and your camera will be even more versatile.  I originally bought this because I had a Nikon 35mm SLR already, and I wanted to use my other Nikon lenses with it, but since getting the Sigma 18-200 zoom lens I...

What i really admired about nikon is that you can use your older AF lenses on the N80 without losing TTL. this baby can be used as a "point and shoot idiot" or all manual pro camera..getting older and not having pinpoint eyesight anymore ..i love and depend on the AF..i have had nikons for about the last 30 years and never had a problem that could not be fixed..not bad for a former diehard minolta user

I use this camera for photographing weddings, A great camera for a back-up.  Easy to use. Focus is great and the picture quality is supurb.  A definate piece of equipment that I use all the time!

I am a photographer and love Nixon brand cameras they are superiour.  I would suggest anyone looking into a high quality camera look into Nixon first.
