This is a great camera! I got this camera back in 2008 to start my hobby in photography. After looking at the Nikon D40 and the Nikon D80 I knew that the Nikon D80 would be a better fit. 10 Mega pixel over the smaller 6 mega pixel body. The body of the D80 is very solid. I have dropped it a couple times from 4 feet and it hasn't chipped or broken anything inside.Very durable and very easy to hold in your hands. It comes with a screen protector for your LCD. I just leave it on at all times so I don't scratch it. It has all the modes of a normal Digital-SLR camera. It is highly recommended that you read the manual. Join a couple camera forums so you can figure out what settings you should use in certain situations. The quality of the pictures you take are amazing. Very good detail on that 10 Mega pixel lens. Make sure you buy a fast enough Secure digital card to go with it and a Vibration Reduction lens that can do a wide range of shots.

I bought my D80 almost 4 years ago now and it has totally changed the way I look at photography. People started complimenting my pictures so I thought about it and went with this camera. Wow, I was shocked at the difference a "nice" camera can make. I have shot weddings with this camera and it has worked out great. This really takes you to the next level in taking pictures for someone who wants to get serious or even someone who just wants really good photos. It is pretty easy to use, but you have to learn your camera very well to take really good pictures. I also liked how it was easy to hold. It shoots in "RAW" format also which is ideal for editing. It is a lot to carry around once you have a nice lens and flash but I wouldn't change that for anything. Now that I am going into photography even more I will be upgrading the body but I am so glad I started with the D80. For me it was my learning camera and helped me realize my passion for photography.

    The Nikon D80 was fun to learn how to use.  It was somewhat easy to figure out.  Once I did learn how to use it I was taking beautiful pictures,  That includes landscapes, portraits, and sporting events.  Basically anything.  It's just a great camera and I enjoy using it.
