The D7000 is a great upgrade for the every day enthusiast

Great, quality build. I started with a Nikon D40 and later upgraded to a D80. The D7000 is leaps and bounds better than the D80. It is a great camera that can be a little overpriced compared to Canon. The sensor is a major upgrade from the D80, and includes video. It is a great camera for the enthusiast who actually enjoys taking pictures and wants to learn about the camera a bit more than putting it on Auto mode. If you want ease of use, just stick to the D5000 or its equivalent. Auto mode is not going to make the pictures look any better than the D5000. If you do photography as a hobby or consider yourself an enthusiast, this is a better camera for you. It is a great stepping stone instead of buying the very expensive full frame cameras. It does great in low light settings, but not as great as a full frame camera would (but thats a given). The actual quality of the camera is great. It is sturdy and I have dropped mine once or twice. Luckily nothing has falling apart and it is working great. As always, Nikons lenses are always more expensive than Canon equivalent lenses. If cost is a factor, Canon is usually the cheaper option. I have been using Nikon and I built up a collection of lenses so I don't plan on switching anytime soon. I like the ergonomics of the body, especially with the extra battery grip attached.

Perfect for all Beginner or Experienced Photographers

Nikon D7000 was the third digital camera I owned and I purchased this product online. I purchased this product about two years ago and it was the most expensive of all other cameras. I am not such a good photographer but I love clicking pictures and since I was going for a holiday with my friends, I wanted a perfect camera to capture the special moments. I am proud that I made a wise decision and bought Nikon as my first choice has always been Canon. This camera has two memory card slots which helps you to record the same image simultaneously on both the memory cards. There are flash modes available to click perfect pictures and they can be adjusted easily. The quality of the pictures is too good to describe and this is because the camera resolution is 16.2 MP. There is a 3D tracking feature available. Its features are worth the price and if you are a good photographer, this is the prefect camera for you.

I love this camera, but it does have a couple flaws, mainly the tendency to back focus. Which is why they released the D7100. I still highly recommend this DSLR. Image Quality Image quality is amazing, as long as your not using the kit lens. Performance With a SDXC card this thing is quick to get the pics but still struggles with the back focus. Ease of Use Its not the easiest camera to use, and you really need to have some DSLR experience if you want to get all the features out of this thing. Durability Its very strong and can take a bump or twi. Battery Life Im actually shocked at how many pictures I can get out of the life of one battery. Portability The body itself is light, but once you add the lends it feels like a tank around your neck.

From a Photographers and not a Videographers view point. > Good Camera? Yes! The D90 is still a pretty close runner up to the D7000. I have both. It is an improvement on the previous D90 that was already good. I use it for my pro work and it produces great results. The only thing I do not like is that little rubber thing on the right side at the bottom where the Batteri fits in to. It flicks open every so often because my Thumb is right at that spot and every so often my thumb would inadvertingly flick it open. That rubber latch is to be opened so that oen can fit an auxiliary Batterie to it. The other big down side I can report is the same as some other people have done. That is; Spots on the Sensor. These turned out to be Oil spots. Had to clean the Sensor a few times. I think that these Oil specs on it got flicked off from the mechanism. Thi should clearly not happen on a brand new camera and never did on my D90. I don't think the auto sensor cleaner works well or even works at all. Other than that is is a fine Camera. Remember! Your final Image result is only as good as your Lens and camera and techniques combined and it there for reviewed based on that. Image Quality Pretty Good > No complaints. How ever" would love to have had this in 20 meg + pixels Performance Oils spot issues on the Sensor needing several Sensor cleaning. Q control lacking. Ease of Use Similar to the D90. Would have preferred to have the Picture view display movements on the wheel rather than on a press button system Durability So far so good but time will tell Battery Life Batterie life is very good and even better than it was on the D90 Portability No problems there.

Nikon is my only choice. Have compared with Canon, but I am always inclined towards Nikon. And this camera supports this for me. Excellent picture quality and features. Image Quality Excellent picture quality and features. Performance Excellent. Use it at home, outdoors and in low light the quality is very good. Ease of Use as any DSLR, check the features and use all of it to get best results. Too many features that I am still learning new things daily. Durability strong built frame that will last a long long time Battery Life I take a lot of photos as my kid is really active in sports. And I would say that the battery life is by far the best i have seen. Portability Take a small bag with different lenses and you are ready to go.

This camera is very good for people who have a good understanding about photography in general. There are some auto features with this camera, but it doesn't make sense to buy this camera if you're going to only use it on auto. It's too expensive as a point and shoot. Buy a point and shoot if you are too afraid to learn about a complex settings or don't have a desire to learn about the many features the D7000 has. Image Quality I have only had the camera for six months but so far I'm very happy with my images. Ease of Use It's not a point and shoot so there are a lot of settings to consider. It's easy to use once you know how to use it. Durability It's a very sturdy camera. It's heavy, so not recommended as a point and shoot. Battery Life I haven't had to charge the battery yet and I've taken over 1,000 photos on this initial charge.

Great camera for amateur to professional!

This is a great semi-professional camera! It works great out of the box, just on the auto settings, but once you learn how to use the manual settings, the pictures go from great to AMAZING! Great quality images! Performance Low light without a flash can be blurry (as with any camera) The only thing I don't like about the camera is the built in flash isn't mounted high enough and you get a slight crescent shadow at the bottom of the images. A different flash eliminates this problem! Ease of Use There are A LOT of setting to learn how to use, but once you figure out where everything is, it is pretty easy! Battery Life AWESOME battery life! I shot for 3 continuous hours and another 2 using the flash almost constantly on a single charge and still had about 20% battery left. For occasional use it seems like I only charge it once a month! Portability It is bulky, but the fact that the lenses are removable makes it slightly easier to carry around. But this wasn't made for portability, if you want a portable camera, get a point and shoot!
