Nikon D50 is a great camera

Comments about Nikon D50 Digital Camera with 18-55mm lens:

The Nikon D50 is a great camera for the novice as well as the experienced photographer. I have had it for several years along with the 18-55 and 55-200 lens. I do wish it had video, but I can live without that. You do need to familiarize yourself with the basic features, including getting a good book about the DSLR and how they work. The automatic setting is great for most all of your photography needs. Extras that you would most likely want are optional zoom lenses, external flash and a good camera bag. I also have added a screen protector for the viewing screen. I also found that you don't need to take pictures in the fine mode as normal is great for taking family and outdoor shots. It is my understanding that the Nikon D50 is not being produced by Nikon any longer, but if you can find a good used one I recommend you jumping at the chance. Also most all of the Nikon lens, both new and old will work with this camera, making it a good choice for someone with a older Nikon with lenses that can be used with the D50.

A great camera for anyone wanting to get into photography.

Comments about Nikon D50 Digital Camera with 18-55mm lens:

The Nikon D50 was the very first digital SLR I ever owned. A friend of mine had one, and I borrowed it once. The rest is history. In it, I have a 1GB memory card, which suits me fine for the small amount of photos I take. Right after I bought the D50, I used it to photograph a wedding. Using a modified setting suggested to me by the friend who also owns a D50, I was able to shoot both quickly and with quality. I use the 18-55 zoom lens, but I hope to get a telephoto lens soon. What's great about this camera is that it can use just about any Nikon lens from any time. The 6.1 megapixel resolution is just the right size for me. Beside, resolution isn't everything. There are some cameras that do 12 megapixels that don't take as a good a quality photo as this camera. Also, one detraction for some may be the fact that you can't preview your shot through the LCD screen. But I love the feel of shooting through the small viewfinder. And I love this camera!
