I have owned the Nikon D200 for almost a year now. It is an excellant camera and I've had much success with it. It is a 10 mega pixel, which helps with quality and file size if you like stock photography. You can start taking quality pictures right off the bat without having to play with adjustments. Once you become more familiar with the camera, then you can fine tune it however you like. There are many setting built in that can be fine tuned but, if you're not sure of what you are doing it can be quite confusing. Only negative thing I thought of the Nikon D200 was when I first purchased it. At that time Adobe Photoshop did not support the Nikon NEF format. (This is a RAW format, just for Nikon). I had to purchase the Nikon software CAPTURE NX in order to work on the raw files. I assume that Adobe and Nikon have taken care of this problem since, but before purchasing, if you have photoshop or are thinking of purchasing photoshop with this camera, be sure to check to make sure it supports the NEF format, otherwise you'll have to purchase Capture NX.
Overall I rate this camera as a quality purchase and would purchase it again and recomend it to freinds and family.
