Awesome camera for the money

5

The quality pictures we've taken with this camera is beyond our expectations. For such a low price you get video capability, zoom, nice size screen and good pixels. It is small and light weight easy to carry "just in case" you see something you want to photograph. We like the fact that it uses AA batteries. We don't have to wait for a battery pack to recharge or have to get to a location to charge it. We carry 2 extra batteries in the case and are always ready. As long as you don't leave the camera on for extended periods it doesn't eat up batteries. I highly recommend this camera.

decent point and shoot for everyday pictures

3

I got this camera from my husband for Christmas last year.  My previous camera was beat to crap, so I was super excited to get this one.  For everyday point and shoot pictures, this was exactly what I needed.  I didn't want advanced photographs, I just wanted to make sure i got pictures of my friends before I went overseas.  I wish the time between pushing the shutter button and taking the picture was shorter, but since I don't have any kids running around, it was just a small inconvience.  slipped easily into the back pocket of my jeans, and handled a couple spills out of the purse quite well.  All in all, a good camera if you're not a pro :)

I thought the brand name would be enough to guarantee quality.

I needed up update and downsize my 1999 Sony Digital Camcorder/Camera.  I did a bit of research but allowed the brand name Nikon to represent leading edge and quality.  So far while under warranty, it simply stopped turning on, but this was intermittent and not reliably reproduced.  Then in October on our first day of a 15 day vacation in Japan, the lense locked out and stayed there.  I/O focus error.  They replaced the lense unit and I was lucky to have a second camera.  That is a lot of downtime for little use.  It is als dissappointingly slow.

Great camera but can get blurry

3

First, I do really like this camera.  I also have one major issue that I think they should've spent a lot more time on for it being a digital camera. What I like: 1:  The size.  This is a very compact camera and it's easy to slap in your pocket if you need to, which I think is essential as a guy if I want to take pictures.  I'm just not going to carry around a case everywhere I go that always has my hand full.  I like something that I can put away without having to carry all the time. #2: Screen size is big and buttons are innovative and right positions.  The screen is big on the back and very easy to zoom in and check out any pictures you've taken.  Almost all buttons are easily accessible with your right hand.  They also smartly but the lens further on the left so it is much harder to get those Accidental Finger shots while trying to take pictures. #3: The amount of types of pictures you can take (presets).  There is a wide abundance nad very  helpful.   My one major complaint:   #1: The pictures, when taken right out of the box, are often blurry.  This should be their number one concern.  I would try to even focus on holding it as still as possible and would still get some semi-blurry shots.  *HOWEVER*, if you do change the settings to one of the presets (Portrait and Party seem to be the best that consistently give me clear shots), I've noticed that drastically minimizes the amount of blurriness.  Once I messed with settings, I've gotten most all shots with clear, crisp pictures.  And thankfully with digital camera you see right away if it's blurry so you can easily retake if needed.   So, be aware of that.  Overall, I'd give it a 6.5 out of 10...so much going for it and if the pictures were more consistenly clear, definitely a 10 out of 10.

Love my Nikon Coolpix!! Great camera for a great price!!

I have had my camera for a few years now and I STILL love it!! It has so many great features to choose from. The pictures come out perfect when they are printed if you use the zoom. I just wouldn't recommend zooming all the way in and expect to get a good picture when you print it, it will be blurry.  That's the only downfall I have found.

At a great price, this camera is great

I purchased this camera for my 16 year old daughter last year for Christmas. She loves to take pictures, but is sometimes forgetful and not the easiest on her electronics. I did not want to spend alot of money on an expensive camera that would possibly be lost or left overnight in the car with -10 temperatures. I reviewed other cameras in the same price range, and decided on the Nikon Coolpix for its great ratings. The camera has lots of options, including a large screen on the back to view your photos. Uploading pictures to your computer is a breeze, as well as uploading to the internet. The picture quality is amazing for the price of the camera - images so clear you would expect them to have come from a very expensive camera. My daughter has failed to carry her camera in its carry case (purchased separately), and yet it is still working fine. We have taken indoor as well as outdoor pictures, and even speed shots and I'm totally impressed. For the price and quality,  I would recommend this camera to anyone.

Good for the money!

The Nikon CoolPix L2  camera was inexpensive so I didn't expect huge results for it.  Cons: It is hard to find the correct mode to use.  Often the pictures are blurry in low light even on the correct mode.  If you have a running child it takes blurry pictures sometimes too. Not crazy about the zoom.  When you playback the photos sometimes it looks like they are blurry on the screen but when you put it on your computer they are fine. I always check on the computer before I delete anything! Pros: I do love the style of the camera and its easy to use.  I dropped it on concrete and it lived through it without a scratch.  You can take pictures quickly one after another.  It uses the SDHC memory cards. Takes surprisingly decent video. You can edit the photographs in camera.  Large display screen.  Easy to switch it to flash. All in all its a good camera for the low price.  I keep this one in my purse and have another camera for those very important events.  Good purse camera!

I have been putting off for a while to purchase a new camera so I did a little research and Nikon COOLPIX L20 was exactly what I was  looking for. I am not the savviest photographer but this camera is making me looki like a pro. . Camera tells you when someone blinks, no photos of people with their eyes closed. Geart for taking pictures of the kids, I dont miss thing. LCD display give me another great advantage. Very worth the money.

Good starter camera...

IT's okay for a starter camera but it lacks a lot of fun features.... Doesn't always focus well and the auto focus can get confused!  It takes too long between photos. Sometimes I miss the photo I want just waiting for the camera to reset!  It sure is a lot better than my lsat camera and the photo quality is awesome outside but inside it can occasionally turn yellowish color. The Nikon Coolpix l2 is a great camera made by a great company but to be honest I'm ready to upgrade to a better Nikon camera....

Pass on this if you have kids ot pet your are photographing

AS a parent of 2 young children I found this camera horrible.  The amount of time ot took between pictures seems like forever when trying to photograph kids.  Even when taking pictures of adult it seem really long.    The camera does take really nice pictures and they are good quality.  Had several people ask if pictures where professional becuase they turned out so good. But had to take 5 times as many to get 1 that was good because the kids had moved on to 5 other things by the time the camera was ready for the next shot.  All I can say is Lag, lag lag.
