Nikon - COOLPIX 4600 Digital Camera —
We started using this camera after our Nikon Coolpix 995 turned up missing. We loved the coolpix 995 so much that when our first one died (after 6 years) we purchased another 995 off eBay. This camera is a good camera for a person who just wants to go out & point and shoot various pictures and isn't too concerned with quality. We have found that when you can get the settings to where you want them and what they are supposed to be for what you are shooting, your pictures turn out fantastic but heaven help you if you don't find that perfect setting. Your pictures turn out looking like a blind person took them. The one thing that drives us CRAZY with this camera is the fact that when you take a picture with the flash and after it goes off, the view screen on back will go completely blank and it takes anywhere from 5 - 8 seconds for it to come back on. During the time it is off, you aren't able to take a picture of anything and anyone that has cute toddlers running around knows that those few seconds could mean the difference of getting a great shot or not. The no sound on the video setting does suck but we also have a camcorder so we cannot complain about that too much.Overall, we love Nikon's but I wouldn't reccomend this camera to anyone other then maybe the first time digital camera user who just wants to get their feet wet. There sure are easier to use cameras out there for right around the same price that have better features.
