I have utilized Nike iD (iD = Individually Designed) twice to create shoes.  While it's a long process, takes about 6-8 weeks to get your shoes in the mail, it's well worth the wait for anyone who likes to design their own stuff. 

Nike iD allows one to create shoes, bags or watches.  From a shoe perspective, you can basically get any Nike shoe and customize it to meet your needs (from a color only standpoint).  So, while you can't add shox to Nike Free kicks, you can pick all of the colors, from the laces to the logos - you can even add your initials, name or other personal word/number. ...
