Most HelpfulWhile my husband and I are not total prudes, not by a longshot, we are growing weary of movies with gratuitous sex scenes, violence, and language just for the sake of it. If you have a really good screenplay, there is just no reason for much of that and so we find ourselves watching more and more family and PG movies lately to spare ourselves the annoyance of it all.
This past weekend we rented Night at the Museum from Netflix and enjoyed it very much.
Night at the Museum is about Larry Daly, a down on his luck dad who is in dire need of a job. His headhunter finds him a job as the night watchman...
review »Have you always wondered what happens when the doors close at night in a museum?
The museum takes on a life of its own. Every history feature has a story to tell and Ben Stiller is there along for the ride.
This is a very funny movie and I hope they come out with a sequel.
this movie is intresting and fun. a guy is about to lose his kid becouse he cant get a job he made a devise called the snapper it just like the claper but you snap in stead hed tryed selling it and they declined him. so then he got a job at a muesum were everything comes out
As someone who likes to watch History Channel (well, the acurate stuff anyways) I got a real kick out of this movie. What's great is that my whole family enjoyed it: adults, teens, and younger children. We all found something to laugh about, and we all enjoyed the originallity of the plot.
Things that one might find offensive: a mild expletive or two, divorce parents situation and the ambiguity of the mom's new relationship (are they married? living together? just dating?); and references to evolution. One would have to be extremely picky to reject the movie just on those items, though.

review »I found this to be a very interesting way at looking at history. It started out slow with a loser man hard up for a job. He finally found a job working a the Museum of Natural History. You, the viewer, learn about history as you watch the film. It is an interesting way at looking at history. It kept your attention while keeping you laughing. I was very pleasantly surprised. Our entire family, from the youngest at 5 to the oldest at 80, thouroughly enjoyed the film. It also made my daughter want to visit the museum - an added bonus. It really did bring history to life.
This was a great family movie. I am the mother of a 3 and 5 year old and they loved it. There are few movies that will hold their attention but this did through out the entire movie. I am picky about what I let my children watch, alot of cartoons are unsuitable for children. My husband and I also really enjoyed this movie. We have watched it many times. Robin Williams, Ben Stiller, Mickey Ronney, and Dick Van Dyke all in one movie, you know it is bound to be hilarious.
