Nicole Miller's Creme-to-Powder Foundation was an entirely new concept to me two years ago. Now I can't imagine being without it.

The first thing that impressed me is the company's use of natural products. You won't find dangerous ingredients in Nicole Miller's products. In fact, Nicole developed these products with the help of Melaleuca, a direct-to-consumer company known for high-quality products that use natural ingredients, and selling them at a lower price than most national brands.

Next I learned that it contained natural lipids and hyaluronic acid (to attract and bind moisture), plus vitamins A and E for soothing conditioning. I liked that I was wearing something that would help my skin, not just give even out my color.

Having switched from liquid foundation to just powder as a base many years ago, I wasn't sure I would like this. I thought it would feel heavy and make me worried that I'd smear it if I touched my face. And I was concerned about matching my skin tone, especially since I sport an ever-changing (natural) tan most of the year.

Upon first application, I was amazed at how beautifully it glided on, how much easier it was to apply than liquid, how natural it looked as it almost immediately dried to a matte finish, how much it felt like my skin rather than a mask, and how great the color matched. In fact, there is forgiveness in the color, as I only need two shades to get me through the entire year of tan to faded and back to tan. But even if that wasn't the case, there are 14 shades to choose from - all skin tones are covered here for all races and ethnicity. (It is suggested that dry skin may not favor this particular product.)

The durable yet soft applicator sponge is hidden beneath the foundation, and of course it has a mirror in the lid for those quick touch-ups or after-swim applications.

Although I paid a little more for Nicole Miller's Creme-to-Powder Foundation than I typically spend on cosmetics, it wasn't outlandish, thanks to the fact that Melaleuca's exclusive direct-to-consumer pricing is generally 40% less than what you can purchase the same product for in Neiman-Marcus and other upscale stores. Yes, you could pay around $50 at the makeup counter, but it's only $20 as a Melaleuca member.

Do I use Nicole Miller's Creme-to-Powder Foundation? Yes! Do I recommend it? Yes! If you care about what you put on your face, it's time to give this one a try - it will win you over!

(The words "Rouge Wheel" are not part of the name. I don't know how that got into the product name, and didn't know how to correct it once published!)
