Low Flow = High Water Savings!

4

We recently had a home energy audit done and one of the recommendations was to install low-flow fixtures.  Therefore, I purchased several **Niagara Conservation 0.5 GPM Low-Flow Faucet Aerators (**N3205N**) **to replace the existing aerators in our bathroom faucets.  Installation was straight-forward and quite easy (unless there are problems removing the existing aerators).  The resulting flow of water through these aerators is 0.5 gallons per minute at high pressure.  Also, rather than being a single stream, the water comes out through about 18 little jets/holes.  This isn't a huge concern and is adequate for washing hands.  One of the biggest drawbacks I have found is that it will take a longer period of time for hot water since it can now only flow out at 0.5 GPM rather than the typical 2.5 GPM.  This aerator is dual-threaded and worked perfectly onto my older Delta faucets, but it is not the correct size for my newer Kohler faucet.  I am still searching for the appropriate adapter.  Also, the only color available is chrome which really isn't a huge deal, but may bother some that have stainless/brushed nickel since it won't match perfectly.  Overall, I have been satisfied with these aerators and the overall water savings is worth waiting a bit longer for the hot water to come through...
