Next 20" Boys' Turbo BMX Bike —

For our son's eighth birthday, we bought him the Next 20" Boys' Turbo BMX Bike at Wal-Mart for approximately $60.  He had long outgrown his 16" bike and we knew that this bike would blow him away when he saw it.

The Facts

  • Frame type: BMX bike
  • Frame material: Steel
  • Suspension: Front suspension
  • Brakes: Coaster brakes, front and rear calipers
  • Tires: Alloy rims
  • Age Range: 6 and up

My Experience

The morning of my son's birthday, we brought him outside to see his new bike.  I think his exact words were, "that bike is AWESOME!".  When we told him it was his, he immediately wanted to ride it but was afraid he wouldn't be able to because of the size of the bike.  After about three or four tries, he was riding it like a pro.  The hand brakes are a bit too tight for him to squeeze easily so he often uses the foot breaks instead.  He says that the bike has a smooth ride and has the ability to go really fast. (mom winces) We recently took our bikes with us camping and my son had no problem riding through the stones, grass and dirt.

My Final Viewpoint

The Next 20" Boys' Turbo BMX Bike was a great choice for our eight year old son.  He is nine now and is still riding this bike without hardly any signs of wear and tear and believe me, it has taken a beating!  I recommend this bike and am giving it a 4 star rating.

I agree with you Laurie, That your child likes his Turbo BMX Bike. And is still riding, And sounds like he has tons of fun when you guys go camping. He can go and ride where he chooses to. Great recommendation Laurie.
