I'm a picky beer drinker, and this is one of my favorites.  Despite being an import from England, this beer is reasonably priced and comparable to a lot of good local brews in both cost and taste(and since I currently reside in Wisconsin, trust me, there are plenty of good local brews available).

I also prefer beers with taste, and this has plenty of smooth and creamy flavor.  This is about as light as I personally go with beers (for me, the darker the better), but my friends that prefer the light color ales also love Newcastle Brown Ale.

So, to satisfy a variety of palates, I would say this...

I've long been a fan of NewCastle. When I was a poor college student it was an occasional treat. Over the years I have come back to and gone away from NewCastle.

Very smooth beer - goes down with ease.

I like mine served fairly well chilled.

The one problem I have with NewCastle is that unfortunately I have run across my fair share of "Skunky" tasting bottles. Its been suggested that it could be because of the clear bottle.

Make sure you buy your NewCastle from a store that regularly replenishes its supply to avoid the skunky taste.

I dont drink much, and i use to hate beer.  But i tried this and it is fantastic!  it is rich, dark without being musty, adn the right amount of sweet to satify a girls tastebuds.  Since tasting this beer i have tried other dark brews, but New Castle holds a special place in my fridge.

Before I begin, allow me to explain my pallet:  I love ales.  Dark, rich, and nutty, and maybe a touch of sweet.  I like lagers, too, but most of them just don't do much for me.  America's recent obsession with 'tons of hops' doesn't make any sense to me.  I don't want to drink plantlife. I want to drink a full, rich, flavorful beer that doesn't leave me feeling like I just raided a flowershop for sustenance.  That being said, I'm pretty much leaving lagers entirely out of this review, which stands to reason, beacuse it's an ale review, isn't it?

So, there are literally dozens of beers that...

I love beer! My husband loves beer. Our friends love beer. What can I say, I am a beer connoisseur. I have been to the Great American Beer Festivals and have tasted and sampled many different brews! I even made my own home brew many times over.  As a matter of fact I reused some of the Newcastle bottles to make my own beer. I have to admit Newcastle has got to be one of my favorite beers of all times. It is very smooth. It has a nutty taste with no bitter taste or after taste  in your mouth. It is not to dark and not too light it is just right. I like the options of small bottles or larger bottles...

Newcastle is absolutley delicious.  It's got a warm carmely flavor, with a slight bitterness.  But it goes down smooth!!!  One of my favorites to go with burgers or grilling!!  Or anything for that matter!!!  I used to only drink light beers, but have slowly progressed (thanks to my husband) to darker brews or more tastes.  Newcastle was one of the first beers I enjoyed that wasn't a light beer, and I haven't been back since.

Newcastle is smooth and tasty.  It's imported, but not expensive when compared to other imports.  It's everything you could ask for in an ale!

I like mine a little cooler than room temp - it seems to bring out the flavor a bit more than an ice cold brew.

One caveat: make sure you get yours fairly fresh.  The clear bottle allows light in, which degrades the beer a bit faster than a darker bottle will.

I try a LOT of beer.  I will not drink beer that I do not like just because it is available.  I would choose wine if I didn't like the beer selection.  I do not like light beers.  Newcastle is always the beer that I turn to.  It never fails, always satisfies.  Not too heavy.  Great taste.  Can drink any time of year.  Worth every penny!

Newcastle is way up on my list, if I can get it in draft. Bottled Newcastle is disappointing--not actually bad, but just not exciting like a draft. A draft is creamylicious.

Not a real hoppy beer, so it's not too bitter. A little sweetness, and just dark enough to have some complexity of flavor without feeling like you have to chew it!

Newcastle Nutbrown Ale  has a good, smooth sweet nutty taste. Pleasant iced tea color.  Smell is sweet with a hint of chocolate and almond.  Enjoyed it in a pint glass served chilled.  For someone who doesn't particularily like hoppy tasting beers such as Samuel Adams, I definitely recommend this one.

A dark beer, but not bitter. An English beer, but not stale. Newcastle is emminently drinkable, smooth and tasty. And the clear bottles are really cool, too. If your looking for a European beer that won't leave you with that wicked headache the next day, I urge you to try it and enjoy.

I must admit that when it comes to beer that I am not much of a fan at all. I personally think beer tastes like cold pee in a bottle and I've never drank pee. But my husband bought some of this stuff and I tasted it and liked it. I even drank a bottle by myself and that's alot for me to do!

When perusing the beer cooler, I tend to more times than not gravitate back to Newcastle. Great tasting beer and although it's a brown ale, it still has a lightness to it that I very much enjoy. Only downfall is that sometimes you'll find a skunky batch due to the clear bottle.

Newcastle is the beer I order most when out.  Sometimes you just want something you know and love ... kind of like comfort food. :-)   You've had a tough day and you don't necessarily want to peruse the menu.  You can order a Newcastle and relax.

Ahhhh Newcastle, finally a beer with some bight.  This is a deep brown ale that is sure to be found in fridge's across america.  It has a smooth finish and not bad aftertaste.  I would recommend Newcastle to any new beer drinker.
