It wasn’t until I went to review the New York Public Library that I really grasped the enormity of this world. I’m going to give you a brief overview of this system and the building to which we went.
The New York Public Library consists of 86 libraries in the Bronx, Manhattan, and Staten Island: four world-acclaimed research libraries; a large network of neighborhood branch libraries; four central libraries with in-depth subject collections; and a library for the blind and physically handicapped.
All libraries in the NYPL system may be used free of charge by all visitors.
Each branch, division...
read full review »Many locations. Bronx included. Lots of great books, dvds, videos. You can reserve items online and receive themat any branch. All topics. Can renew and check many things online on New York Public Library website. Sometimes item is listed but they don't have any copies.
Fun classes for children, teens, and adults of all ages.
More like a museum rather than a library, this branch is overwhelming. Go to see the exhibitions, stay for the reading room. Sometimes, I don't want to study at my uni's library and will come here for a change a pace. A definite must see.
