New York City, New York is a great experience. It's busy, it's crowded, it's a melting pot. I was a little disappointed as I walked the streets. It had a stench and the trash just spilled out over the sidewalks. However, it was my first trip and hope it's not my last trip to the city in the BIG APPLE.
I was overwhelmed by the crowd as I got out of Penn Station. It's like in the movies. The taxis were an awesome sight. The streets were covered in yellow.
You're not far from the Empire State Building, the news building, Time Square, the Knicks' court, shopping, shopping, shopping.
New York City is a shoppers' haven. Make sure you come to the city with money be it cash, check, or plastic. You can't help but buy, buy, buy. OH, and make sure you have walking shoes or hail a yellow cab.
Not a place to drive if you've never driven in a big city. Walking is faster.
So to the Statue of Liberty. A hard place to find if you're not a New Yorker.
Don't forget to bring extra cash for tolls.
You need to get a place in the city or close by to really enjoy the sights and everything else. New York City is not a one nighter.
Nights are fantastic. The lights, the sounds, the cover-ups (you don't see the ugly parts of the city....hidden in darkness) are great at night.
If it's entertainment you're looking for, New York City has many.
